Official Message from Richard Burr's Office

    Mr. Gheen,
Please find a statement from Senator Burr below. Should you have any
questions do not hesitate to contact me.

    "Our immigration system is broken.

We should not reward those who have broken our laws. I do not support
the DREAM Act that would provide financial rewards, like cheaper
tuition, to those who come here illegally.

Our first priority should be placing those qualified Americans who are
available for work in good paying jobs. Individuals who work under
temporary visa programs should not displace any American workers. These
    protections must be enforced.

This week the Senate will debate the Defense Authorization Act of 2008.
This important legislation should focus primarily on national security
and the support of our men and women in the military. The Defense bill
is not the right time or place to debate immigration policy."

Well stated, Senator Burr. We need to reclaim jobs that have been outsourced to other countries, we need to encourage the productivity and the creativity of our U.S. Citizens, and we need to assure that the jobs of U.S. Citizens will not be taken by anyone who is not a qualified U.S. Citizen. Other countries, including our friends England, Australia and Canada, will not hire foreigners into jobs in their countries unless that job is one that cannot be performed by one of their own qualified citizens. It's about time that we adopt that practice as law for ourselves.

Too many U.S. Citizens are going without, while congress panders to people who come into this country illegally, who break our immigration laws, and who feel that they can take whatever they want. It has to stop.
Remember that*all Politicians work for us, the U.S. Taxpaying Citizens.* If they are not doing their jobs to your liking, FIRE THEM in the next elections.
