Thread: Once Upon A Time.....

A man walks into a bank and hands the teller a note. The note says, "give me all the money in the bank". It's bank policy, not to resist a bank robber, so the teller complies and the man leaves the bank with 2 million dollars.

The bank reports the robbery and the police search for the bank robber, but do not find him. The bank robber buys forged documents and establishes a new identity. He uses the 2 million dollars to start a business, which prospers. The man marries, starts a family, joins a church, joins the Lions club and generally becomes a model citizen.

Finally, after 10 years, the police arrest the man for bank robbery. At his trial, the jury finds the man guilty. The law says the penalty for bank robbery is a minimum of 10 years in prison.

The judge decides that since the man has been a model citizen for the last 10 years and didn't "hurt" anyone when he robbed the bank, he will not send him to prison. Instead, the judge orders the man to pay a $2,000 fine, back taxes on the $2 million dollars, and the he must learn spanish.

Sounds like amnesty to me.
