Caught it - it finally aired at the end of the hour.
They let their intern who is getting ready to leave for another job handle the lead-in to the story.
There wasn't a lot of new information - except - that the family has a pending request with the FBI to investigate the assault as a hate crime

Phred I was so glad they went to the FBI you could sure see the school is not going to do anything and a few days out of school is not enought to teach prople a lesson, you can not go around beating people up because you do not like what they say!
