One good thing about illegal immigration..I'm losing weight!
My husband is a vegan, and while I've been resisting joining him, I've finally made the decision to go vegan myself. Knowing that our meat-packing plants and slaughterhouses are employed by masses of illegals, I want nothing to do with meat anymore.
Of course, illegals also pick a lot of the produce as well, so I'm not comfortable eating fruits and vegetables either. It's my understanding that there's been an increase in the incidences of Hepatitis B found in lettuce, and it's hypothesized that this is due to the illegals defacating right in the fields where they pick the lettuce (plus not washing their hands after they go and then resuming picking the lettuce).
So, I've been living on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chocolate soy milk (oh, yummmy).Calderon was absolutely right when he said...."Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico".

I wish I was loosing weight! unfortunatly typing away and screaming and pacing from time to time isn't considered a good active work-out. I am like you though.....I've gotten a tad insecure about the safety of what it is I eat. Haven't made any firm commitment to a way-of-life food change, except no Tyson or fast-food, etc. Growing my own veggies if the darn heat would ease up and stop frying what I have left trying to grow..... Coz I don't "go in my garden" and I wash my hands. It really makes you think though...doesn't it?

Before I became clued in to illegal immigration and boycotted Baja and Mexico, I went on a trip with the San Diego State University Aztecs Adventure Club. We went to see the historic cave murals (pictographs) in the Sierra de San Francisco mountains in Baja.
Well, our pack guide, "Ramon" and his son, "Little Ramon" would literally just squat by the streams and go. I'm not kidding. They had no shame, no embarassment. But geez....we were getting our drinking water out of those streams!!!! We filtered the water, but I can tall you, I was dehydrated for the whole trip and couldn't wait to get home!!Calderon was absolutely right when he said...."Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico".

Yes, it does. The peasant Mexicans have a total different view of sanitation than we do here in the U.S. Squatting and "going" within 5 ft. of where they're picking lettuce would be quite normal to them. I can say this with conviction because I've SEEN something similar in Baja.

My recommendation to anybody eating fresh fruits and vegetables is to WASH them thoroughly. Use a vegetable brush to wash your veggies, and try to eat fruits with thick peels (like oranges and bananas).

Anybody in San Diego area hear anymore about the Orange county councilman who was caught with illegals working his avacado grove, they had film footage of these workers defecating near the trees.
I can remember looking through a book titled "donde hay no doctor" (where there is no doctor) it dealt mostly with proper sanitation and keeping things clean, stuff your mother taught you when you were young.
It gives you a pretty good insight into how people live outside the USA, there is a english version you may find at your local library if you want to take a look.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Make dam sure you wash those salad makings in the sack that says prewashed, they are washed allright in creeks that cows take a dump in! Never trust what the directions say wash everything even cantelopes, one kid got E-coli, because his mom didnt wash the outside of the melon and the knive took the bacteria from the outside to the inside! I read that one in readers digest I think!
Build the dam fence post haste!

Avocadoes can be the worst for E Coli. Make sure you wash the avocado before you cut into it with a knife. There can be E Coli on the peel, and it gets into the fruit.
