    AMEN!!

George W. Bush, rich brat that he was, avoided active military service.

Richard Cheney successfully evaded any military service.

But neither has hesitated to send our braves soldiers into battle to make this nation safe for illegal aliens and the criminals that employ them.......................

Florida's only living vet from WWI receives medal
The 111-year-old served on a patrol of the British Isles

    By MITCH STACY
    Associated Press

BRADENTON, FLA. — Florida's only living World War I veteran got a long-delayed medal Friday as he smiled at the hubbub and recalled his service on a battleship nearly 90 years ago.

Ernest Charles Pusey, 111, seemed to enjoy the attention as Gov. Jeb Bush awarded him a World War I Victory Medal at a gathering in the retired General Motors worker's trailer on the day before Veterans Day.

"It looks pretty good, doesn't it?" Bush said.

Pusey was in the U.S. Navy from 1917 to 1919 aboard the battleship USS Wyoming, which spent much of the war patrolling the sea lanes around the British Isles.

He told Bush he doesn't feel too good some days and has trouble getting around. But he remembers his time on that battleship, especially "stopping at different cities out there."

A black-and-white photo of the ship hangs on the wall in his living room near a framed letter of congratulations from President Bush, which Pusey received this year.

According to the federal Department of Veterans Affairs Web site, there are fewer than 25 living U.S. veterans of World War I out of nearly 5 million who served worldwide.

Pusey worked at GM in Flint, Mich., for more than 30 years and moved to Florida in 1960. He's tried nursing homes, but prefers living in his trailer with the help of a caretaker who also takes him to church and out for scallop dinner on Sundays.

Just so happens I attended a funeral 3 days ago for a deceased veteran. Had the gun salute, played taps and had the flag folding ceremony. Very moving to say the least. So this ceremony is fresh in my mind on this day.
Thank you to all our military men and women, whether they be from past service or present. Appreciate and love you all.

    The Sentinels Creed

My dedication to this sacred duty is total and wholehearted.
In the responsibility bestowed on me never will I falter.
And with dignity and perseverance my standard will remain perfection.
Through the years of diligence and praise and the discomfort of the elements,
I will walk my tour in humble reverence to the best of my ability.
It is he who commands the respect I protect.
His bravery that made us so proud.
Surrounded by well meaning crowds by day alone in the thoughtful peace of night,
this soldier will in honored glory rest under my eternal vigilance.
