    Plan needed to naturalize immigrants

    Plan needed to naturalize immigrants
    November 19, 2007

By calling it amnesty, we give common sense a dirty name.

For the past 40 years or longer, successive federal administrations have failed to enforce immigration law. The result is that 10 million or 20 million people live in the U.S. illegally, some of them for decades.

The guilty party in this travesty is Uncle Sam and only he can fix it. But to suppose that those 20 million souls can be sent home on a bus is silly. They are here and here they will remain no matter how illegal it is or how much it disturbs some of our citizens.

What is needed is a plan to invite them out of hiding, identify them, weed out the criminal element and put them at the end of the list of people awaiting naturalization. Such a plan would obviate the need for a fence at our boundaries.

If the newspaper is interested in presenting such a plan, there are plenty available. They need only ask and I'll provide them with one.

My comment for Harry left at above link:

Here's some information for your PLAN, Harry:

    ALIEN:
    1) a person who is not a citizen of the country.
    2) in the United States any person born in another country to parents who are not American and who has not become a naturalized citizen. There are resident aliens officially permitted to live in the country and illegal aliens who have sneaked into the country or stayed beyond the time allowed on a visa.

    INVADE:
    1. to enter like an enemy: Locusts invaded the fields
    2. to enter as if to take possession: To invade a neighbor's home
    3. to enter and affect injuriously or destructively, as disease: Viruses that invade the bloodstream.
    4. to intrude upon: To invade the privacy of a family.
    5. to encroach or infringe upon: to invade the rights of citizens.
    6. to permeate: The smell of baking invades the house.
    7. to penetrate; spread into or over: The population boom has caused city dwellers to invade the suburbs

    ILLEGAL:
    Unlawful; illegitimate; illicit; unlicensed.
Illegal, unlawful, illegitimate, illicit, criminal can all describe actions not in accord with law.
Illegal refers most specifically to violations of statutes.
    Illegal is "prohibited by law."

Are there any part of the words "alien, invade and illegal" that the anarchists, open borders lobbyists, illegal alien huggers, undocumented invaders AND HARRY doesn't understand?

Here's the plan Harry...enforce our current and existing immigration laws! Our immigration system is not broken, just enforcement of it is. Illegal aliens will be removed from America, one way or the other. Either through self-deportation or forced!

Zeezil, I clicked on the link and of course, it is a rag from OREGON, liberal state if ever there was one.

The writer is unbelievably naive if he thinks illegals are going to come out of the shadows and expose themselves, especially those with crimininal records. He must be new to the debate, coz that was what all the failed CIRs were about. Sheesh -- there is nothing worse than a newbie OBL! It's just the same old story that we have already put to test and to rest.

    Additional comment left for Harry:

Here's some more information for your PLAN, Harry:

    Illegal Immigration is a Crime

    (1) Violating the immigration law is a CRIME
    (2) Forging documents is a FELONY CRIME
    (3) Passing forged documents is a FELONY CRIME
    (4) Stealing ID is a FELONY CRIME
    (5) Using stolen ID is a FELONY CRIME
    (6) Re-entering the country after being deported is a FELONY CRIME

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:
Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
    Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;
    has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

In addition to sneaking into the country in violation of the immigration law that requires that aliens be documented for legal entry (referred to as "entry without inspection -- EWI"), others enter with legal documentation and then violate the terms on which they have been admitted by taking jobs that are not authorized or overstaying the authorized period of stay in the country.

"Any alien who is present in the United States in violation of this Act or any other law of the United States is deportable."

    Furthermore:

    Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)
"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
    * assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
    * encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
    * knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

NO illegal alien should EVER be naturalized, illegals need to RETURN to their OWN countries THEN apply for LEGAL entry to OUR country. And as for LEGAL resident immigrants, it seems to me lately that a LOT of them want the GOOD life here but DON'T want to LEARN English and assimilate! And UNLESS and UNTIL THAT happens, there is NO way such immigrants will EVER be capable of becoming AMERICANS!
