I had to take a break A breather if you will.

For the past few days i have been just chilling. Getting together my thoughts and wondering if i was doing and saying the wrong things..
last week i went to the VA hospital to have a study done. Most American troops under normal conditions would not even think of comming against the leader of the country. Weather democrat or republican.
Solders and veterans of all ages. Hold dear to thier hearts the leadership of this great nation. And they do this because they have given of thier lives , time, alot of us our friends lives to be sure that this democracy would flourish and live forever.
I spoke to a Viet Nam veteran Old and Loud LOL but he is clear on how he stands on this issue of illegal immigration.
He said with a tone of disdain that that the fellow soilders of his erra who had died and those before him "must be turning i thier graves this dang country". He went on to say" used to be people were proud of thier heritage" proud of thier flag" proud of thier nation. The last part tore me up.
We have become a nation of GIVE ME, GIVE ME, and GIVE ME.
So the example we have set the world has adopted as the reasons to come to this Great nation.
They dont want to become citizens, pay taxes, go through the processes
that it takes to become what you and i are. But then again ........ Look at who and what we are too.
Our television glorify evil, lawlessness with outright abandon. Our courts
award criminals and penalize the victims. You dont have to be punished if you have a certain stature to your physic.
we call ourself a lawful nation but in reality are we ??? Are we really???

I have been passing this all around my head for over a week and the question begs to be answered.
wouldnt you want to go to a country where you can do anything you want and get away with it.
hopefully our nation will take up the reigns And start setting the example of a lawful nation.
then we can say with pride that we are a nation of laws who will not tollerate Our streets being lined with lawless criminals pushing their lawless ideas on you and me the law abiding citizens.
Just a little food for thought !!

Always a law abiding legal citizen

    Lawful Nation

I've been wondering what the veterans and active military think of what is happening in this country, or, do they even know?? Surely, the military that return talk to their friends overseas.

That was a excellent post Steve and that old vet you talked to was correct! This country has been going down hill for years!
You want to know how Vets feel?
When I came back home I was spit on, called a baby killer, had rocks and bottles thrown at me, nobody would give me a job because they were afraid of me, that was my thanks for serving my country! Then when Nam fell our govt. brought all the refugies over here and gave them welfare they all had money and new cars that they didn't even know how to drive while my widowed mother was scraping by on my fathers SSI, he was a WWII vet! Here were these people being given more than the people who have fought for this country!
I turned my back on this country for a long time and I'am still a bit of a recluse but it's hard to sit back and watch it all fall apart so I am back in the fight!

a country where you can do anything you want and get away with it.
This is a really good point. Americans are self-regulating. We have unwritten rules and standards of living, social behavior, expectations of fellow citizens and how you should treat one another. One example is don't use a cell phone in a movie!!!! This is the major problem with the illegals. Common consideration and manners are out the window! I bet they don't even have a version of Emily Post in Mexico. They seem to be very self-gratifying and beyond that, nothing else matters. I'm constantly hearing "I" this and "I" that, sometimes disguised as "Latinos" this and "Latinos" that. There are no "Wes" in their vocabulary and I can't say that about Americans.

Also, on the point of self-regulation. If we saw someone commit a crime, we would most likely report it. Not in the Latino culture. Oh no! That is just one example, of not regulating one another. They have a real misguided concept of freedom. I would report my own child. Oh no, their criminal child would be at the next family goat cooking, showing off the hot car to the family. They just seem to condone and ignore what they do to others. We are non-humans to them. We don't matter.

We shame one another for misdeeds, instead of rewarding egos with praise.

I think there is a moral divide as well.

MountainDog, I'm glad you're back, and sorry you went through such garbage. My soon-to-be fiance was killed one week after he got there.

My position is that troops should be backed, whatever a person thinks about a war.

    Dixie, Amen.

Pat, I am very sorry for your lose! America lost a lot of fine young men over there.
I made a vow that when our young men were coming home from Iraq I would do all I could to make sure they would not be treated as the Nam vets were.
I had the honor to go with my neice up to Camp Pendelton when her husband came home, when the Marines were released I was out on the parade deck shaking hands and welcoming them home.
That was the first time in thirtyfive years that I have been there, it brought back a lot of memories.
