Just about every politician has a short chain that the Powers that Be yank on. It is mostly because of the "power" of economic statistics. And I certainly don't argue that increasing immigration of all sorts---legal and illegal---makes the numbers improve. This, however, does not necessarily mean that quality of life is improving. For starters, even if the statistics and numbers seem to improve, inflation also rears its ugly head. We see that happening in our state with real estate values in certain areas going through the roof.

There ARE ways to improve your life---no matter what these economic indicators show. Unfortunately it is very hard to find a candidate who will buck them, when push comes to shove.
