President-Elect Donald Trump has not yet announced his pick for Secretary of State, though the press has speculated on several prospective candidates.

You, the Breitbart reader, were instrumental in Trump’s election victory and the continuing rise of America’s nationalist-populist movement. We want to know who you would prefer to serve as the country’s chief diplomat.

Former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton 25.67% (15,855 votes)

Former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney 7.7% (4,757 votes)

Former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani 36.62% (22,622 votes)

    U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher 3.44% (2,124 votes)

Former CIA Director David Petraeus 19.69% (12,164 votes)

    Other: 6.88% (4,250 votes)

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Bolton is an interventionist. If true, I don't think he's a good choice.

While I can't speak for him on other issues, I think Dana Rohrabacher has always been a border hawk and anti-amnesty for illegals kind of guy. However, if memory serves me, he may be weak on the worker visa issue.

I'm not sure, I just don't care for the guy. When he toured with Trump on the campaign, I couldn't listen to him. Whatever his merits as a mayor are, I don't think his abilities translate to a national authority on anything.

Just a point to make. All the pundits who more or less support the intrigue of the Romney nomination as Secretary of State refer back to Abraham Lincoln who for some reason chose to appoint 3 or so of his major rivals to his Cabinet and they use this as an example of the right thing to do.

    Abraham Lincoln was assassinated.

    Et tu brute.

You put an enemy like Romney on the road cavorting with enemies of the United States and someone expects Trump to survive this? GET REAL. NeverTrumpers are deranged, evil people. It's just that simple. Do not put these people in our government because they will be plotting every day on how to get rid of Trump. Romney doesn't need a job, he's a rich guy with plenty to live on. Romney doesn't want to Make America Great Again, he wants to do the opposite. So why is he asking for a job in this administration? Plain as the noses on your faces. To use his position to get rid of Trump.

This is not rocket science, folks. It's the history of human behavior.

Giuliani Wins Breitbart Secretary of State Straw Poll; Bolton 2nd, Petraeus 3rd, Romney Distant Fourth

    by BEN KEW

In a poll of over 100,000 Breitbart readers, former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani came out as their preferred choice for Donald Trump’s future Secretary of State.

Guiliani, who backed Donald Trump’s campaign to be president, won 36.64% of the vote share, and was followed in second place by former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, who gained 26.23% of the vote.

Other candidates in the poll included former CIA Director David Petraeus who won 19.84% of the vote, whilst former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who has been widely touted as the most likely pick for the role, received just 8.25%.

However several reports have claimed that Mitt Romney must apologise for his disparaging remarks about the President-elect before assuming any kind of office.

The other candidate in the poll, U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher, received just 4.06% support, whilst 4.98% of voters said they would choose somebody else.

The Trump administration has yet to reveal much of its cabinet. Choices so far include Jeff Session as Attorney General, Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, and Nikki Haley as Ambassador to the United Nations.
