Tancredo fan, does the last line about the press mean that the people can't go see him in person? And what does "press availability" mean. He's coming to two places near enough so I might possibly be able to get there. This happens so seldom that I would take time off work to go but I don't want to do that then find out I can't see him anyway. Guidance?

    Thanks.

I think press availability means at the very least that he will answer questions from the press. It may mean that is simply a press conference.

I recommend that you call Cong. Tancredo's office. A toll-free number to the U.S. Capitol is 1-800-355-3588. If I were you, I would simply call his office and ask to speak to someone who could answer your questions. Alternatively, you might call Team America. I hope you get to see Cong. Tancredo in person.

    Take care.

Thanks Tancredofan. El Paso covers Las Cruces, NM as far as TV news so I'm going to write to all our stations and make sure that they know where and when. I'm taking the day off and going to both Deming and Las Cruces.

Thanks a million for this heads up so I could make plans and hopefully get our news stations on the band wagon.

I just sent e-mail to all the news stations and I will follow up with phone calls once the offices are open and before I go to work. I think this is news. I didn't, however, send messages to the Spanish broadcast stations because I don't speak Spanish.

I'm sure that Tom's people have alerted these same stations but that is OK. The more people they find are interested, the more likely to get some positive press on the subject.

I heard about it on the radio

I just heard a commercial on the radio this morning that he's going to be speaking in Reno on Saturday night at the Peppermill Casino, and they said it's free too! I'm there!!

The commercial on the radio said he'd be speaking and basically told whoever wanted to to come. It was an announcement that he would be speaking. It wasn't said that it was a press conference only open to the press.

Well, I'll let you all know tomorrow or the next day, depending on what time I get back from NM. I'm going to go see for myself.
