President Bush is losing his base!

President Bush is losing his base!

It is pretty bad times when a President’s own party does back him and literally is embarrassed by his initiatives . Movements to empress the Latino vote and sway the American people in his views are getting few and far between. As he loses ground, it seems a hole is getting dug, worst than any tunnel under the American borders. Contempt within the party, within the cabinet, within the house, boils and steeps into the American Public. What do you think? I am curious to know! Are their move out here thinking the base is lost already due to the Illegal Immigration Migration Problem? What do you think? I am curious to know!

Edward Blum of the American Enterprise Institute and the Center of Equal Opportunity say that any immigration reform bill must have a provision that “Affirmative action on the basis of race, color, or national origin should not be available to any temporary worker—or any recent immigrant shouldn't be given a preference in school admissions, public contracting, and employment by race and origin

Yes there are. I am one of those base, he no longer has my support for anything. That is not to say I denounce all republicans or the republican party. Many of them are standing up and showing their support of the US citizens against illegal immigration.Party lines no longer matter to this old Indian, I will vote for the man who promises to enforce our immigration laws to the max! Please just don't let him or her be a raving liberal!!! Just teasing here, as long as he or she has our country's well being at heart, no changes moving toward socialism. I can vote with a clear conscience! I hate to admit it, but I have lost complete faith in our President, I really think the man is mentally ill, I am not saying that with a bad attitude, I really think he needs to seek some kind of help.In all fairness here. Bush has probably had one of the most stressful presidential periods in our history, it has been one catastrophy after another, a lot of men would break under the weight of this stress, having said this though, he has failed dismally and should step aside and let someone else who is up to the task take over. I wouldn't have it, in fact, I really worry about a man who wants this job in the first place!

    My opinion.
The loss of base of core Republican support is directly due to Bush's immigration stand & not securing the border. I feel most thinks he should have secured the border immediately after 9/11. Also, I feel his lack of border security is not just a lapse in judgment. He has purposefully not secured the border because he does not want to stop illegals from coming into this country. Even now, this latest action to move troops to the border is a result of pressure from his own party...not because he thinks it is the right thing to do. Most Republican conservatives and even middle road now have him branded, and nothing he can do will change their minds. This sounds simple, but I feel a lot of what Bush does is about family...not what the American people need...only what his family thinks is best. Anyway, for whatever reason Bush thinks we should have open borders. He hopes that the security issues will die down so he can on with the business of amnesty.

Keep in mind that his numbers with conservative Republicans did not go down due to the Iraq war, the decline started with his stand on immigration.

I think his poll numbers will continue to decline among core Republicans.

He's not mentally ill, he's just a spoiled brat who has never done a days' work in his life and knows only money and privilege and having his own way. He wants to be in public service, mainly because he failed at everything else, but he doesn't know how to serve anyone else.

I am/was a Dem, so I didn't vote for Bush, either time, but like you I don't have a problem voting GOP if the candidate is going to serve the American citizens, as they should. I think we all have changed to the Just An American party.

Bush is not losing his base, his base is lost. Nothing short of a complete turn around on his immigation policy can save him or the Republican Party at this point.

Most of my friends are conservatives (birds of a feather) and most of them continued to support Bush, long after I gave up on him, but every one of them has now said that they will vote against all the republicans in the next election, if amnesty is passed. Many conservatives and some independents are turning to the Constitution Party for relief. The 2008 Presidential election, could see the emergence of a strong third party and the decline of the Republican party.

I flat out hate him him now, and i have supported him in the past. But who was i to vote for Kerry? Gore? not like i had alot of choice. I'm afriad that corporate lobbyist will persuade congress to push this bill. The all mighty dollar is more powerful then any vote we have.

I think Bush and many in Congress were depending on Americans to be loyal to their parties. I voted for Bush 2 times and was an avid supporter following 9/11. However, when the Minutemen exposed the porous borders and were called 'vigilantes' by their president, that's when he lost me.

I love my country, NOT political parties or politicians.

And another thing...since we are on a roll here.

When Bush was going to make his speech about border security the White House said he was making a proposal about how to secure the border.

Proposal? What the hell is that? The president should have been on TV saying on his authority as Commander & Chief he is securing the border of this country immediately. He does not need a proposal or Congressional approval to do the most basic function of his job....to protect and defend this country. Had he taken that strong stand he would have absolutely had the support of the majority of the American people. He doesn't have the fortitude to run a girl scout meeting. Well, come to think of it, they would probably kick his ass.
