PRESIDENTIAL PARDON FOR BORDER PATROL AGENTS

    By: Devvy Kidd

    August 14, 2006

    NewsWithViews.com

"Law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual." --Thomas Jefferson to Isaac H. Tiffany, 1819.

I have yet to see one minute of coverage on "mainstream" television about the recent travesty involving two U.S. Border Patrol agents and a drug dealing scum bag from Mexico. For those unfamiliar with this story: In the line of duty on February 17, 2005, border patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean were involved in a shooting which injured an illegal alien (not immigrant) named Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila. Aldrete-Davila's mother contacted U.S. authorities and the stupidity moves on from there; full story here that will break your heart.

For the U.S. government to charge two of our finest for allegedly violating the civil rights of an illegal defies logic and further convinces me that madmen and empty headed women are running this country. ILLEGALS have no constitutional rights and if they're so concerned with their "civil rights," they should stop their illegal activities - smuggling drugs while ILLEGALLY crossing the border into the U.S. The safety of OUR border patrol agents should be the number one issue here, not coddling criminals caught in the act.

How could something like this happen? First and foremost, this lunacy could have been stopped by Bush's corrupt Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who admitted several months ago that his grandparents were most likely illegals (birds of a feather). Gonzales is the darling of La Raza and other militant sedition organizations and has made it abundantly clear through his actions, like his boss, President Bush, Gonzales is for open borders and rewarding illegal activities. Gonzales is the Attorney General of the United States only because he helped hook wink the American people regarding Bush and his drunk driving arrest and conviction. At the time, Alberto Gonzales was chief counsel to the Texas governor, George Bush; Gonzales made sure Bush didn't serve on jury duty because he would have had to disclose his felony conviction back when he was a full blown boozer.

The U.S. Attorney who prosecuted this case is the lowest form of public servant and if it were in my power, I would have fired her backside the minute I got a whiff of what she was doing. Of course, it won't bother Madame Debra Kanof one iota. She is the part of the growing legion of federal flunkies who are out to count coup and notches on her panty hose even if it means sending innocent Americans to prison. I have run out of polite adjectives for these government "employees" who are out of control and their bosses, i.e., Alberto Gonzales, who is on the same par of ruthlessness as baby killer Janet Waco Reno was under Billy Clinton. Make no mistake about how dangerous Alberto Gonzales is and what he's capable of.

When government takes it upon themselves to wrongfully persecute any citizen by putting them on trial, it is ultimately up to the jury to decide the facts of the case and "do the right thing," even if it means standing up to government bullies. Tragically, this did not happen in this case and shame, shame, shame on those jurors for their cowardice. I always tell people: Take a look at the person in front of you at the grocery store and imagine them sitting on a jury deciding your fate. It should scare the Hell out of you which is why I am such a dedicated supporter of fully informed juries or FIJA. What is that? FIJA is one of the most important organizations in this country educating the average American who might be called for jury duty, their rights as a juror and their power to stop these federal and state dragoons from sending innocent Americans to prison.

I urge YOU to contact FIJA and get involved or at the very least, get their materials and talk with friends, neighbors, members of your church, business colleagues, buddies at the local VFW, Grange and family members. Anyone who is registered to vote can be called up for jury duty anytime and they MUST be prepared to fulfill their obligations as a juror and know their rights so these types of travesties don't continue. Do YOU know about jury nullification? If not, please take a few minutes to review this short but important explanation. Remember this: one day it could be YOU sitting as the defendant in a court room on trumped up charges by a state government or this tyrannical monster our federal government has become. It is in YOUR best interests to advance FIJA and help educate your fellow Americans. This is something everyone can do with little or no cost.

What is going to happen to Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean? Because this farce was a federal trial (even though under the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the power to make criminal only four types of conduct: treason, piracies and felonies on the high seas, counterfeiting, and offenses against the laws of nations), these two Americans are facing mandatory federal prison time - up to 20 years. The recreants at the El Paso U.S. Probation Office has requested the judge throw these men the maximum under federal sentencing guidelines. Despicable.

Ramos and Compean can appeal their convictions - while they rot in a federal pen for years and their families go without the father and husband. There is only one option left and that is a presidential pardon. I checked with my dear friend, Dane von Breichenruchardt, an appellate attorney and president of the Bill of Rights Foundation in Washington, DC. Bush has the power to pardon both of these innocent men. These fine, decent Americans are to be sentenced August 22, 2006 and hauled off to a federal pen for processing to their new "homes." If George Bush has one ounce of decency left in his body, he will pardon them the minute the sentence is recorded.

What can you do? Please, take a few minutes to call the White House and tell Bush to pardon Ramos and Compean. If you belong to any group or organization, please pass the word along to them and use the power of the Internet to flood the White House with phone calls and faxes asking for a presidential pardon for these men - not years down the road when Bush leaves the White House, but NOW. They should never have been put on trial and they should not spend one day in a federal prison. Their lives have been ruined and their families have suffered for no good reason other than to protect the "civil rights" of a drug dealer caught committing multiple crimes.

Don't call once. Call everyday this week and if you have the capability, send a fax once a day. Forget e-mail; there's no way the White House staff can read hundreds of thousands coming in each day. Call every talk radio show you know or listen to and ask the show's host for help in this effort to get Bush to issue a presidential pardon for Ramos and Compean. If you personally know a member of Congress, contact him/her and ask them to also approach Bush and ask him to do the right thing here and grant these pardons. We're talking five minutes here of your time. Ramos and Compean are facing 20 years in a federal prison. Please help these men and their families.

I don't see the President pardoning these guys, but I'm 100% sure he will pardon some criminals that don't deserve to be pardoned.

Boy does it! Actually, depending on the day, some of those in front of me at the grocery store are not eligible for jury duty, but if Bush and the Senate have their way, they will be soon!

To think that open border Bush would actually pardon these border agents is pretty farfetched. A lot of us, myself included, think that the Bush administration knew about and was behind the investigation and prosecution of these border agents, in an attempt to weaken the border patrol. However, he might just pardon them for show, just like the 3,000 guardsmen (the other 3,000 are still missing) on the border changing oil.

Bush Pardon them. HA HA HA HA you’re kidding right. It was probably one of his sister-in-laws relatives the border patrol were shooting at.

I heard the President of this organization on a talk radio show out of Denver yesterday
    http://www.friendsoftheborderpatrol.com/

During the interview, I heard some things about this case I had not heard before. The drug dealer was a childhood friend of another agent this agent and the drug dealer were from the same town in Mexico. Two week after the "alleged" shooting the drug dealer called up his border patrol friend and that agent told him how to file the complaints. The prosecutor's office called the drug dealer in Mexico before they called the agents. The drug dealer was given immunity for the 700 plus pounds of marijuana that he had been abandoning and another more recent drug bust.
The border patrol agent that is the "friend" of the drug dealer has had his mother-in-law driving the drug dealer for his medical appointments at the Army Hospital in El Paso.( yes, we are paying for his medical treatment)
This was reported two weeks after the incident. For all we know the drug dealer could have been shot in the butt in Mexico and saw a way to get some quick money. It was mentioned that the ballistics were in question. Anyone know about this? What about the Drug dealers buddy that is a border patrol agent? Anybody check him out?
On another interview I saw on Fox, the wife of one of the accused agents said that the female federal prosecutor told them that he had "turned on his own".
