New immigration thread on Confirm Them!

All it took was me complaining for half an hour, and Andrew obliged.

    :P

    Here's the pertinent link:

Edit: Immigration-related comments are reserved exclusively for that thread.

I thought it would be a good idea considering El Presidente Bush's latest pronouncements on de la isssue immigracion.

    :P

Anyway, you'll notice that this issue is percolating throughout the conservative movement, not simply among border enforcement and anti-illegal immigration groups.

Even Bruce Bartlett-a self-avowed liberatarian-cited Bush's laxity on immigration in his new book, Imposter.

    Really?

Well, I thought it was interesting.

My point is that this issue can't be ignored by the flunkies in the GOP leadership any longer.

There isn't a "division" in the Republican Party.

Real Republicans-95% of them-want us to control our borders, and impose sensible restrictions upon immigration.

The only people opposed to this are venal corporate interests, Chamber of Commerce flacks, and toadies working for the Wall St. Journal op-ed and editorial page.

Talking heads do not represent voters.

Shapka, I didn't know about all these different forums and blogs. It is great to learn about them. I guess you got that forum to start a whole new thread about immigration. Right? If that's what you're saying, then good for you! We need to apply pressure from all sides, and we need to keep at it.

Yeah, it's an off-shoot of Redstate.org, and was designed in order to expedite the confirmation of all the judicial nominees, mostly COA nominees, being stalled by the Democrats in the U.S. Senate.

The thread came about after several people began to interject with complaints about Bush-in relation to last night's speech advocating amnesty-on unrelated threads, so I suggested that they create a thread dedicated specifically to that subject.

    toadies
can sit there and really sound like they believe the garbage they're throwing out there to us. Or do they sound that way because they know they're being recorded?

The point, for example, that they've 'returned 6M'. puhleeze. How many returned, how many times?

I know about globalism.....and it sure seems like their agenda is running full steam ahead.

Confirm Them! is a pretty fascinating weblog, and has some of the best breaking news about the federal judiciary. That site and The Corner/Bench Memos on NRO were two of the first places I went to for information during the Roberts and Alito confirmation hearings. I started posting to CT in the aftermath of the Harriet Miers debacle, so I've been using it for around half a year or so.

    Plenty of them.

Hopefully, we can gum up the works before they steamroller the rest of the American public, although I'm pessimistic.
