Pro-Amnesty lobby is sending free faxes, we need to counter!

    This is a big week.

In the last few days, hundreds of organizations -- from Los Angeles to Maine, Miami to Seattle -- kicked off the nationwide campaign to Reform Immigration for America. Today, allies from labor, faith, business, and the community officially launched the campaign in Washington, DC. America's Voice is a part of this national movement, and we invite you to join us.

Tomorrow, over 700 advocates will descend on Capitol Hill to tell Congress: "We cannot wait any longer. America needs to reform immigration now."

While we can't fly all of our supporters out to join us in DC this week, at least we can give you a one click way to add your voice to the debate. Please take 30 seconds to send a free fax to your Senators, Representative, and Congressional leadership right now:

Click here to tell Washington you want immigration reform NOW.

Here's the thing: President Obama has repeatedly said that reforming our dysfunctional immigration system is a priority. But it's going to take a lot more than having the President on our side to win.

We need Congress on the case.

Over the coming months, we're going to be asking you to help us flood Congress and the White House with faxes, calls, emails, and visits. This week, our goal is to back up our 700 advocates on the Hill with 2,500 phone calls and 20,000 faxes.

Your voice is critical -- please fax your leaders in Washington now:

Send a message to your representatives in Washington with just one click.

We can't wait any longer for just and humane immigration reform.

Thanks for everything you're doing to make it happen.

    America's Voice

    We have some big news.

This week, hundreds of allied organizations launched the campaign to Reform Immigration FOR America in cities all across the country -- from Los Angeles to Maine, Miami to Seattle. Today, a broad coalition of allies from labor, business, and community groups officially kicked off the national campaign in Washington, DC. FIRM is a part of this exciting grassroots movement to reform immigration, and we invite you to join us.

Thursday, over 700 advocates are descending on Capitol Hill to tell Congress:

"We cannot wait any longer. America needs to reform immigration now."

We can't afford to fly you out to DC to join them in person, but we can give you a 1-click way to be there on paper. Please take 30 seconds to send a (free) fax to your Senators, Representative, and Congressional leadership right now:

    http://www.ReformImmigrationFORAmerica.org?p=FIRM

Then, please forward this to friends and family. Our goal is to back up those 700 advocates on the Hill with 2,500 phone calls and 20,000 faxes.

Here's our thinking: President Obama has said reforming the immigration system is a priority for him. But it's going to take more than just having the President on our side to win. We need 279 votes to pass comprehensive immigration reform: 218 US Representatives + 60 Senators + the President's signature. So over the coming months, we're going to be asking you to help us flood Congress and the White House with faxes, calls, emails, and visits to say (each in our own way):

"Our economy and thousands of families are suffering under the burden of a broken system. The time has come for just and humane immigration reform. We cannot wait any longer."

Together, we can make this happen.

NCLR JOINS NATIONAL IMMIGRATION CAMPAIGN TO PUSH FOR IMMIGRATION SOLUTIONS

Washington, DC-Calling the broken immigration system an "assault on American values and ideals," Janet MurguÃ*a, President and CEO of NCLR (National Council of La Raza), the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, today helped launch the Reform Immigration FOR America Campaign. The campaign includes business, labor, religious, civil rights, and immigrant leaders who pledge to work with President Obama and ensure that his promise of addressing comprehensive immigration reform becomes legislative reality.

"For far too long, we have allowed a can't-do minority to block progress and manipulate this issue to tear our country apart, but the urgency for reform is clear: economically, practically, and morally," said MurguÃ*a. "Policies that call for SWAT-like teams to pluck people out of their beds in the middle of the night, lead to racial profiling, separate families, exploit workers, and ignore due process are shamefully un-American."

NCLR calls for a system that documents the undocumented and gets people in the system to contribute fully, brings order to the border in collaboration with our neighbors and border communities, creates sound methods that help good employers and crack down on unscrupulous ones, unclogs legal immigration channels, and advances immigrant integration strategies that strengthen America's place in the world.

"There has never been a more urgent time to reform the immigration system. Comprehensive immigration reform is necessary to secure a better economic, practical, and moral future for our nation," concluded MurguÃ*a.

Today's campaign launch press conference is part of a weeklong series of events, including more than 40 local campaign launch press events in 20 states, a national summit in Washington, DC, the convening of 700 grassroots advocates representing more than 35 states, and a national town hall meeting on Capitol Hill on immigration reform.

Here is what they are faxing:

Tell Congress: "It's time to fix the broken immigration system. Pass comprehensive immigration reform this year!"

Our broken immigration system is hurting our economy, American families, and all American workers. Comprehensive immigration reform is the solution. President Obama supports reform. But only Congress has the power to pass legislation.

Thank God for Numbers USA. Some of these other places are asking upwards of $80.00 to fast Fax the Congress. I can no longer afford to send these Faxes.
