    Protests next week

Next week I am going to TWO protests in California against the traitors (politicians). Even though they are 200 miles from where I live.

Is anybody here going to protest against Lindsey Graham next week?

    What about DeVine?

Any other Senator on the Jidiciary committee?

If you don't, then don't moan when amnesty passes the committtee, and later the full Senate.

Get with the local SOS, Minuteman, or FAIR group in your area. Most of them have done protests before. If there isn't one, call the local Police, and ask what the requirements are. Most of them don't ask for money or a permit, they just tell you to abide by certain protest laws.

Then publicize it here, on the Minuteman website, on SOS.

Finally and most important, call the local press.

    thelmahopkins,

    Basic Overview:

The right to legally and peacefully demonstrate is guaranteed by the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Article VI defines the U.S. Constitution as the supreme law of the land.

. This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

This means that all laws in the United States—federal, state, and local—must be consistent with the Constitution. All judges must hold the U.S. Constitution above all other law. Federal judges are Constitutionally compelled to strike down local, state or federal laws prohibiting the legal and peaceful exercising of first amendment rights.

So in a general sense, as long as you are on public property and you are not seeking exclusive use(such as closing the street for a parade) and you are a citizen of the United States, you got your permit on December 15, 1791.

No, absolutely not, as long as you stay on public sidewalks and don't block any pedestrians or access to the building. Portland might also have laws prohibiting bullhorns, you need to check.

This needs to be emphasized more. The press is an integral part of keeping things from getting out of hand.
