Question Everything He Says – Obama Deliberately Misquotes Illegal Immigration Statistics

The story being peddled over the last couple of months is that the flow of Obama’s illegal alien recruits across the Mexican border was down significantly, not only from the levels previously being experienced this year, but from the levels of August 2013.

If that were so, one might be led to conclude that the Obama regime is doing something to combat the invasion, that contrary to their own political motivations, they are standing up for the American people and protecting our borders. Of course that is ludicrous concept; Obama sees the borders and the American people as obstacles to be overcome and nothing more.

Not only is the premise of him representing Americans unbelievable, it turns out that his story was as well.
In an August 28th press conference, Obama said, “The number of apprehensions in August are down from July, and they’re actually lower than they were August of last year.”

He added, “Apprehensions in July were half of what they were in June [and] so we’re seeing a significant downward trend in terms of these unaccompanied children.”

Initially he made a claim as to the apprehensions in general and then conveniently closed the comment by shifting mid-sentence to a focus on the “unaccompanied children” from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

What Obama failed to quote was statistics for was the larger and rapidly expanding segment of the illegal influx that is made up of adults and children, defined as “family units” by the Border Patrol.

While the number of so-called “unaccompanied” youths dropped from 4,330 in July to 2,037 in August, the number of Central American family units which include at least one adult changed only 6 percent at 5,205, down from 5,517 in July.

He deliberately misled the American public, giving the impression that he was still continuing with the parameters set in the beginning of his comment, while describing the smaller, more favorable segment in generalities. It’s a favored Obama technique for shaping public perception, known to most of us by the familiar term of “lying.”

The combined totals, down from 9,849 in July to 7,242 in August, represent a 26 percent drop for the month, only half the reduction Obama had claimed. The numbers are typical and reflective of the greater danger and discomfort associated crossing the desert in the summer months. Those levels are certain to rise again with September’s cooling temperatures, barring any unlikely law enforcement activity on the part of DHS or the regime.

Why anyone ever believes a word that comes out of this man’s mouth is a mystery. The truth is not in him.
