The immigrants rights march that brought 2,500 marchers to downtown Santa Rosa on Thursday also resulted in a strong police presence when rival gangs threatened to disrupt the protest.

At least three minor fights broke out between members of rival gangs but no injuries were reported and no one was arrested, Santa Rosa Police Capt. Gary Negri said.

Participants in a 1 p.m. march from Santa Rosa Junior College said their group had been joined by Norteno gang members who were traveling with the march to meet up with Sureno gang members.

About 50 to 70 Nortenos waited for the marchers to pass at Third and B streets, Negri said.
When the march passed, the group began flashing gang signs and yelling, Negri said.

    Charlotte Turnout low.

Perhaps fifty individuals, mostly high school students who walked out of school without permission, marched to Marshall Park.

    May 1st - What a Joke

I am so sick of these illegal aliens shouting how they should get citizenship, better jobs, education and free healthcare, in a country they do not love or care about. They just want to suck us dry and when nothing left go back to mexico. Our government has and is the problem. These politicians who want the illegals here are looking for votes and cheap labor and they are willing to sell out the American people for it.
I am so frustrated the way this administration has pandered to mexico.
Why is it that the illegal aliens DO NOT march in a demonstration in THEIR COUNTRY??
They should all go back home and rally to their government and leave this country to the ILLEGAL CITIZENS that are here.
We should also demonstrate and let Washington know we will not accept amnesty in any form, but most of us WORKING LEGAL people do not have organizations backing them to take the day off. Such a stage demonstration.

    Olympia March Erupts In Violence

    POSTED: 9:22 am PDT May 2, 2008
    UPDATED: 9:56 am PDT May 2, 2008

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A May Day march in Olympia on Thursday erupted in violence and vandalism, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The march started out peacefully with about 150 walking through the downtown area.

According to police, as protesters headed to the state's Capitol building, a pair of windows were shattered at a bank.

Once at the Capitol, demonstrators scrawled anarchist symbols on the walls outside Gov. Chris Gregoire's office.

Protesters wrestled, cursed and spit at police as officers tried to arrest a woman, and officers used pepper spray in an attempt to control the crowd.

Olympia police arrested six people who could be charged with felonies. They are expected to make court appearances on Friday.

A group endorsed by a number of organizations had a permit to rally at a park downtown and march to the Capitol, calling for immigrant rights and an end to the war in Iraq.

    Reno Nevada

Reno had a similar loss of numbers.

One channel (cbs) claims there were 500 marchers and showed them carrying the US flag only, and the "yes we can" garbage. They were handing out a petition to ask Gov Gibbons for a worker program in Nevada. A WORKERS PROGRAM IN NEVADA? It seems our illegals don't know what the visa's are for and figure sinse they have been here for "many many years", they should be given citizenship or at the very least, their own worker program seperate from any other state or city. They also played the poor undocumented child card as usual.

The other channel (abc) claimed a few dozen marchers, and showed them carrying both the US an mexican flags. That's about all the press they got from this channel and rightly so!

I never watch the local nbc channel. But I would imagine they put the numbers at 1 million or more. hehe

No violence reported, just most of the local police messing up traffic for them.
Have you ever stopped to think, and forget to start again?
