Let me add my sincerest thanks and deepest respect to all of our Veterans on this blessed day of remembrance. Your honor, courage and sacrifice epitomize all that is good in this nation. America appreciates you, even when it's government does not.

On a side note, those of you with contacts to our Active Duty Personnel here and abroad MUST keep them informed of the treasonous acts perpetrated on us by this government. I fear there is a time soon coming when ADP will be forced to choose between the government and it's citizens.

Detention Camps, shackled railroad cars, U.N. troops in America...

These things do NOT bode well for a freedom-loving people.

A BIG thanks to the USMC that saved my butt twice.

1975, a couple months out of Navy boot camp, rode the bus to the border south of San Diego. Strolled into enemy territory and wandered around.

Got lost and it was twilight. Some hombre bumps me and uses that as an excuse to start a confrontation. His 2 buddies appear and begin approaching.

Backed into the entrance to a small store to limit their attack area. Took 3 steps up the concrete steps and shouted at the smirking scum that were still approaching, fists raised. Shouted out as LOUD as I could "Come and get me you SOBs!!!!!!

The wondrous bearers of the culture below our border were at the bottom of the steps when a ROAR filled the air. The large crowd of Mexican nationals looked up along with the 3 vermin...... who fled, scurrying away like the rats they were.

In a few seconds they were there, two BIG black guys who said they had heard my shout in English and looked for the source.... seeing me with fists raised.

Those two guys were fresh out of Marine Corps boot camp. When they saw me they did not see a white guy.... they saw a fellow American in peril. They also said that if I had not taken those steps upwards they likely would not have seen me due to the crowds on the sidewalk.

We banded together and finally found the portal leading us away from the cesspool back to the USA. We crossed legally!!!!!

Even if I had whipped those three imagine the thrills of becoming involved with the corrupt disgusting so-called Mexican legal system. Or, what if more had joined in or weapons were used. Those two Marines assuredly saved me, possibly even from the most terrible possibilities imaginable.

Then the Marines saved me and another shore patrolman when trouble began on Guam..... 150 or so sailors, soldiers, airmen, etc who were there preparing to receive Vietnam evacuees decided to re-open the enlisted mens club. As they gathered in the parking lot instigators aroused the crowd, turning them into a mob who began throwing rocks from the gravel parking lot and began advancing towards me and a guy from a different ship than mine. Standing side-by-side, face shields on our helmets down, dodging the rocks that came close, we introduced ourselves, shook hands, agreed to go back-to-back when the mob reached us and take out as many of the mob as we could before going down.

We two were at the forefront of the 20 other shorepatrolmen that had been assigned from various inport ships to handle the BIG crowd at the club that night. Looking back to see how the others were formed up...... I saw nothing!!!! Eeeeeeeek!!!!!!!!!!!! Telling my new-found friend to look back he said aloud what I had thought, "Oh sh!t." The other 20 had departed. We had been busy watching the crowd, dodging rocks, making our plans and, with the noise of the shouting mob we had neither noticed nor heard the other 20 hightailing it out of there.

We made our decision quickly...... we weren't going to allow those punks to make us run in fear. No WAY!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr......... we agreed to have our own little Alamo!!!!!! Pulling our batons we stood side by side and watched the mob get closer. We were lucky they had been drinking since it made most of the thrown rocks fly everywhere but right at us, though a few had to be dodged.

With the nearest of the 150 or so (it WAS a large crowd... there had been over 300 inside the club before we closed it and ran the rowdy bunch out before the regular closing time) around 50 feet away...... a jeep flew around the corner. Pulling in front of us it skidded to a stop and the guy in the passenger seat, a US Marine Corps officer, jumped out, pulled his .45, cocked and loaded it, aimed it at the mob and shouted, "The next SOB who throws a rock gets it between the eyes."

    Silence.

    All motion stopped.

Every eye of that mob was staring down the barrel of that mini-cannon.

The officer stood there, moving that pistol back and forth, seemingly daring one of the mob to throw a rock!!!!

What a sense of relief!!!!!! Wheeeeeee!!!!!!!!! My partner and I looked at each other with huge shoot-eating grins on our faces!!!!!

Then, around a minute after the jeep arrived, a platoon of Marines led by a grizzled sargeant, came double-timing around the building, their bayonette-tipped M-16s at the ready.

Cool!!!!!!!!!! We 2 once-outnumbered shore patrol dudes were loving this!!!!!

Forming up in front of the officer, the Marines planted their feet and pointed those bayonetes a the mob, a formidable barrier, warriors who would have faced any foe if ordered.

The mob still stood silent, unmoving, the fear on their faces more apparent than before.

With a shout conveying the command authority instilled by Marine Corps training the officer ordered the mob to disperse NOW!!!!!! and to immediately return to their units. As one, the once rowdy threatening crowd turned around and silently walked off in all directions.

    Wheeeee!!!!!!

    Bless the USMC!!!!!!!!!!!

Approaching us, the officer barked, "Where are the rest of the shorepatrol that are supposed to be here?" Snapping to attention, we told the officer that they had been behind us but had disappeared unnoticed by us while waiting for the mob to reach us.

Ohhhhhhhh...... the ANGER on his face!!!!! Stomping off he went around the corner, behind the enlisted mens club. Soon, we heard the shouting.... he had found the missing 20 hiding behind the club. Though I wanted to enjoy the tirade I actually felt sorry for those guys!!! That Marine officer berated them in a most vicious manner. The platoon of Marines were chuckling as that officer went on and on.

Finally, he returned. Before ordering the platoon to return to quarters he turned to me and the other guy and shouted for all to hear.......

    "You two shoulda' been Marines!!!!!"

Jumping into the jeep.... away he went with the platoon double-timing behind.

Sure appreciated those gutsy Marines. Put those guys on the border!!!!

Those who know of the inherent semi-rivalry between the Marine Corps and the Navy, of which the Marines are attached to, having that officer say what he did to us two was a compliment. In fact, to this day, the finest compliment by far I have ever received, bar none.

    God Bless the USMC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about being so long-winded but those two interactions with the Marine Corps had a great impact on me...... I was a mere 18 years old at the time. Felt older than that then but, looking back, I realize how young I really was!!!!

I'm curious about what our military overseas thinks

The Washington Post reported that the Pentagon has developed its first ever war plans for operations within the continental United States, in which terrorist attacks would be used as the justification for imposing martial law on cities, regions or the entire country.

According to the Eagle Forum, President Bill Clinton issued numerous Executive Orders usurping authority of Congress, the states and the citizens

Executive Orders to Globalize our Military

Clinton's Presidential Decision Directive 25 of May 1994 presumes to give himself the authority "to place U.S. forces under the operational control of a foreign commander." It enables the President to put U.S. troops under foreign command and also under foreign rules of engagement. The full text of PDD 25 has never been released.

When the Clinton Administration ordered American troops to go on a so-called "peacekeeping" expedition to Macedonia, U.S. troops were ordered to wear the United Nations uniform. The court-martialing of Army Specialist Michael New, who protested this order because it conflicted with his oath to the U.S. Constitution as well as military orders, was a watershed event on the way to abandoning the U.S. Armed Services to foreign command.
Army Specialist Michael New told his lieutenant

"'Sir, I don't think I should have to wear a UN arm band or a UN beret. I'm enlisted in the U.S. Army; I am not a UN soldier. I have taken no vow to the UN; I have taken an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America from enemies foreign and domestic. I regard the UN as a separate power .... Where does my oath say that I have to wear UN insignia?'" According to New, the lieutenant responded, "'Well, soldier, you enlisted in the Army, and that oath you took was to obey orders from your chain of command and we're saying -- wear it!'"
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Colonel Ronald D. Ray (USMC, Ret.), provided legal counsel to the New family, and said the refusal to wear the UN uniform "is more than just a fashion statement. He has been the victim of a bait-and-switch: He was recruited to serve the Red, White, and Blue, not the United Nations flag . . . As a U.S. soldier, New would be entitled to a protected status as a POW; as a UN soldier, if he were captured he would be a 'UN hostage.'"

Colonel Ray know's what he's talking about because a U.S. Marine, Lieutenant Colonel Rich Higgins, was also involved in a UN "peacekeeping" mission in Lebanon in 1988 where he was abducted and hanged by Hezbollah terrorists. Colonel Ray said

"the position of our State Department was that they would seek release of 'all of the hostages' without making a special effort to secure the release of this American officer. He wasn't an American POW; he was simply another UN hostage, and this redefinition of his status proved fatal."

New "has posed questions of tremendous historic importance. He is acquainted with the U.S. Constitution and the principles it embodies, and the contrary principles found in the UN Charter. He's in a very strong factual position as well, because the Army's gradual and increasing involvement in UN operations places U.S. soldiers in a militarily vulnerable and morally untenable position."
Naval Captain Red McDaniel, a former Vietnam POW wrote:

"U.S. law provides no specific guidelines concerning U.S. military involvement in conflicts under UN command. Thus under the present status of U.S. and international law, the U.S. government has no way to protect its military personnel captured during UN operations from physical and mental torture, inhumane treatment, incarcerations and even execution."
"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it" George Santayana "Deo Vindice"

    Thanks

GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, OUR VETS AND ANY ACTIVE DUTY FOLK! THANK YOU!

Obbop, I posted this, previously, about my brother's courage.

My brother made me proud too. He's an ex-Marine (once a Marine, always a Marine). He has a badly damaged knee but doesn't let it stop him.

He was in, I believe it was San Diego, Ca., on business, going to pick up his car in the airport parking lot...one which was a ways from the airport.
He said that 5 Mexican young men, (he was 50+ at the time), looked at him and his laptop and suitcase. They spread out a bit and deliberately started toward him (I guess to do a job that Americans don't want to do ). My brother took up a Marine fighting stance and called out, "come on, come on...5 to 1...so brave...you may get me (knife) but I'll kill at least 3 of you with my bare hands, first. Which of you will be the 3? " He said they stopped, looked at each other, and started running away. Thank God. He used to really like So. Cal., a long time ago. He said it's a cesspool now

All of you, with your service, have made us as proud of you as I am my brother!
    hugs, Pat
