Rep. Greg Steube Introduces Legislation to Repeal 'Motor Voter' Registration

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) yesterday introduced legislation to repeal certain provisions of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, known as "Motor Voter" registration.

“I’m introducing legislation that takes important steps to safeguard our elections and keep the federal government out of a task that should be left solely to each state,” said Rep. Steube. “U.S. citizens are the only ones who should vote in our elections. 'Motor voter' registration threatens election integrity by allowing registration with little proof of citizenship. Further, it forces election related tasks on already overburdened DMV staffs.”

This legislation leaves in place the provisions of the National Voter Registration Act requiring states to check their voter rolls periodically for accuracy by conducting a general program that makes a reasonable effort to remove to names of ineligible voters from the official lists of eligible voters in the state.

This legislation also leaves in place the provisions imposing criminal penalties for fraudulent voter registration or voting activities.

Illegal aliens should not be in our country.

Illegal aliens should not be issued Driver's Licenses, they should not be driving on our roads, and this is aiding and abetting them by awarding them our privileges to drive in this country.

Non-citizens should not be voting in any of our elections! If here legally, their Drivers' Licenses should be a bright neon green color. Do not like it? Then do not come here! We owe you nothing.

Drivers' licenses issued to illegal aliens should not be recognized and deemed "Null & Void". Impound the vehicle and deport them!
