Somebody should ask John Boehner where was he on this pledge crap when he was bowing down to every single one of George W Bush's whims? He was a complete liberal under Bush, but all of a sudden now that Obama is in charge and his party is the minority, he pretends to be an American. Screw him, I don't trust him. He's another Gingrich.

09-24-2010, 09:04 PM #14I agree with you Darth that people from all political persuasions should come together to oppose illegal immigration. I don't care what anyone's opinions on here are outside of illegal immigration (except where globalism is concerned). Progressives can DEFINITELY be against illegal immigration. In fact, they have every reason TO be. From what I've researched most Dem voters are against the invasion, but are Democrats for reasons outside of immigration. Just as many here are Republicans even though most Rep politicians have diametrically opposing views on trade (a very important issue, particularly for people here).

I for one am happy you are here, Darth.Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

The Republican Party leadership's rope-a-dope pledge!
.
If the Republican Party leadership were sincere in wanting to reverse what our progressive crowd has been doing over the past 75 years or so, they would have identified and pledged to defund and close down some of the Establishment’s unconstitutional and bloodsucking institutions such as the unconstitutional federal department of education. But heck, seems as though they are just fine with this parasitic institution staying alive, so long as the Republican Party leadership gets their chance to be in charge of re-distributing the $120 BILLION budget which has been confiscated from the paychecks of Mary and Joe Sixpack who can barely meet their own personal economic needs.
And, while Mary and Joe Sixpack’s annual earnings are about $50-60K, the 5000 bloodsuckers at the federal department of education are paid very, very handsomely, see: FEDERAL EMPLOYEE OVERVIEW
“Are you considering a government job? The federal government employs approximately 2 million federal workers plus 700,000 Postal workers and hires hundreds of thousands each year to replace civil service workers that transfer to other federal government jobs, retire, or leave for other reasons. Average annual salary for full-time federal government jobs now exceeds $79,197.
The U.S. Government is the largest employer in the United States, hiring about 2.0 percent of the nation's work force and the workforce is expanding significantly due to health care reform, in-sourcing, and many new regulatory programs. Federal government jobs can be found in every state and large metropolitan area, including overseas in over 200 countries. The average annual federal workers compensation, including pay plus benefits, now exceeds $119,982 compared to just $59,909 for the private sector according to the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis."
And in return for their outrageous salaries and benefits, the 5000 employees at the federal department of education volunteer their services during federal elections to keep alive and expand the iron fist of the federal government, whether Republicans or Democrats are in charge.
No wonder the Republican Party leadership gives a cold shoulder to Sharron Angle. She represents a threat to the Washington Establishment’s gravy train. And so, instead of getting behind her and giving her their full support, the Republican Party leadership creates a. rope-a-dope pledge, trying to con the people once again.

09-25-2010, 02:21 PM #16I agree a few Tea Party candidates have een bad choices but Tea Party members helped unseat some rotten incumbants who thought they OWNED their seat in Congress.

While I feel most Repubs are more aligned against illegal immigration, the cold hard fact remains that they fight with each other on tv, but are really slapping each other on the back when it's over. Just a big dog and pony show.....

09-26-2010, 05:22 PM #18This pledge seems to be nothing more than an attempt to keep the Establishment's ringleaders in power. The Republican Party leadership feels threatened by the Tea Party uprising and will do anything to con the American voter into giving establishment RINOs another chance. And yet, why have they not apologized for their specific votes in Congress which were inconsistence with our Constitutionally limited system of government and flew in the face of the very traditions and moral values which are the foundation of our nation’s success?

Hey Boehner, what part of the Constitution grants power to Congress to tax for, spend on and regulate public school systems created under state constitutions?
[b][i]“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected.
The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.â€

Besides being an ALIPAC member I have also been involved with the Tea Party. I want to assure everyone here that the vast majority of the Tea Party people are common working American families who want common sense governance based on the founding principles of the Constitution. Who want a future for their children that is not government control and enslavement by socialism/communism. The Tea Partiers are not big funding, rather it is a groundswell of American masses upset and concerned about what is going on. Big money may be trying to buy-over or co-opt and that is always the lure and corruption called Wash. DC -- but these candidates are more down to earth and real based Americans than ever before standing up for Americanism and an American form of government based on individual Rights and States Rights.
All Tea Partys should reject becoming too cozy or coming under influence by anyone establishment --- such as Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, John McCain, etc. The Tea Party does not have to accept ANY type of definition that is put on them by anyone!!
I would remind, that all Tea Partiers and the Republican Party have a common objective in sending the Democrats home, sending the Democrats to oblivion and out of power. While there may be problems --- the in-fighting and small stuff (or single issue problems) should stop ---- Rush Limbaugh (whatever you may think about Rush) was right -- the election situation is quite simple (on the National level) -- vote for the (R)'s and hence against the (D)'s
After the election --- the particulars of the in-fighting, the pledge to America can be sorted out --- WE all have one primary objective this November --- downing the Democrats
I am sorry -- but if WE have a chance to unseat a 40-year or long-term entrenched Senator like Barbara Boxer -- by sheer fact of her long entrenchment (and her horrible work over the years) she should be removed. It is quite clear that it is the incumbents and their own by design system of learned abuse of money that they have down to a science to stay in power.
Again -- it is the (D)'s who are really now progressives (there should no longer be anything called a democrat anymore) that have managed to do the most harm in nearly all U.S. history by implementing socialist/communist policy.

As I have been saying for the last three or four years. It is no longer about party, it is about the people we vote into office. Everything the Government is doing these days is about "tax and spend". There is no more "doing the right thing for the people". Those voted into office quickly forget who they serve and who works for whom. I this environment, those in office now are doing nothing but lining their pockets before they get voted out. I heard minority leader the other night on Fox (Boehner) say that he has never asked for an earmark in the twenty years he has been in office. BS!!! Every single elected official has, no matter how it came to pass.
Again, this would fix the problem:
- Term limits
- No more 100% Retirement
- Same health care plan you and I are on.
- Laws enacted apply to those who enact them.
- If said laws are broken, they they should serve twice the limit...
Nuff said"Throw every eligible*politician out of the Federal Govenment this November!* If their replacement doesn't do the job, then throw them out the next go around."
