I am not sure just what "conservative" will even mean in the future. Previous generations of conservatives could feel validation when their worldly or liberal friends or neighbors finally succumbed to the fruits of their ways---such as early deaths for alcoholism, veneral disease, lung cancer, drug addiction---but soon medical science will be able to alleviate those things. So there won't be a significant downside to a lot of excessive behavior.
I see a lot of energy in the Obama supporters---call it the result of a personality cult if you want, but it takes energy to accomplish anything great. Obama is highly intelligent---even if his rhetoric is simplistic.
I see a number of kids who have been educated in the homeschool method by religious people--and they reallly seem like oddballs.
Most people become more conservative when they start having kids, to protect them from the type of people the parents once were. Will this apply in the future? I agree that we have a critical time and I do worry about the future. I truly don't know how people will change or what people will deem important. I guess we all want to be safe......"Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David
