Return Email From Senator Feinstein
March 29, 2007
Dear
Thank you for your letter regarding the "Development, Relief,
and Education for Alien Minors Act" (S. 2075), commonly known as the
DREAM Act. I welcome the opportunity to respond.
Many foreign born children, through no fault of their own, find
themselves with no legal immigration status in our country. These
children have lived in the United States most of their childhood, attended
elementary and high school, but are unable to go to college or enlist in
the military because of their immigration status. The DREAM Act was
reintroduced late last year, and would grant permanent resident status to
these deserving youth so they can further their education or serve in our
nation's military.
I am a cosponsor of this legislation because I believe it is in our
national interest to provide talented students who have clearly embraced
the American dream with a path toward becoming responsible,
contributing, law-abiding members of our society.
Again, thank you for writing. I hope that you will continue to
write to me on issues of importance to you. Best regards.
Sincerely yours,
Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

She's one of those who has been in DC way too long. There must be something in their drinking water that makes them stupid and far removed from every day people.

most of u guys dont know jack about immigration matters. illegals do not serve in the military they cant. they guy who said they can is obviously an ingnoramus. i support the dream act because these kids have grown up here all their lives, most speak perfect english and even have american accents so what do u guys gain from preventing them from serving in the military or going to college so they can be good tax paying citizens. u hardliners keep on saying they are draining the system but yet u want to keep them in the shadows so they can keep on draining the economy right. Besides why should they be held responsible for what their parents did. how would u guys feel if u were speeding in your car with your kids inside and a cop stopped you and gave u a 250 speeding ticket and then gave all your kids inside the car separate speeding tickets too just because they were with you. Afterall they were breaking the law to by sitting in that speeding car. Okay let the dialogue begin what are your reasons for opposing the dream act and if u bring up the instate tuition thing there is another act called the earn act that doesnt have instate tuiton. so i'll love to hear from u guys. God bless
