    It's not 700 Miles, but it's not 60 either !

    It's not 700 Miles, but it's not 60 either !

H.R. 6061 would amend P.L. 104-208, the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigration Responsibility Act of 1996, to direct the Secretary to provide at least two layers of reinforced fencing, additional physical barriers, roads, lighting, cameras and sensors extending from:

    • Ten miles west of the Tecate, CA port of entry to ten miles east of the Tecate, CA port of entry; 20 Miles
    • ten miles west of the Calexico, CA port of entry to five miles east of the Douglas, AZ port of entry; 60 Miles
    • five miles west of the Columbus, NM port of entry to ten miles east of El Paso, TX; 90 Miles
    • five miles northwest of the Del Rio, TX port of entry to five miles southeast of the Eagle Pass, TX port of ntry; 65 Miles and
    • 15 miles northwest of the Laredo, TX port of entry to the Brownsville, TX port of entry. 220 Miles

    • 20 + 60 + 90 + 65 + 220 = 455

Someone can check my math and mileage, but that's what I come up with.

"Its not 700 Miles but it's Not 60 either".

Traitors! What total treachery...even when backed in a corner like the dirty rats they are...they still try and pull a deception on the American People.

I say....WALL OF AMERICANS ... is the best course to actually secure the borders.

Why line a contractor's pocket? Why make Boeing rich?

Put Americans to Work Securing Our Borders NOW!

Create a Wall of Americans paid for by the US Government ... 40,000 Americans, 20 to a mile to work shifts of 6 per mile, 3 shifts per day, 24/7/365. Pay them whatever market rate bears but probably $20 an hour would work fine; draw all the people needed; give them some minimum training ... a month or so ... then put them on the Border, provide them benefits like all federal employees have, cover their expenses needed to be on the border .. radios, cell phones, vehicles, and protective and some camping supply gear where needed and LET THE SECURITY BEGIN!

Estimated cost is around $2 Billion A Year. We save many more Billions than that by securing the border so the program more than pays for itself from DAY ONE.

I think we should coordinate with the MinuteMen on this because they have a similar concept called the MinuteMen Civilian Defense Corps and also have a fence project.

WALL OF AMERICANS .. this is what we need to stop illegal immigration in its tracks ... on the opposite side of our borders.

    NO ONE GETS THROUGH.

    PERIOD.

    We can do this.

I had always heard that the bill authorized up to 700 miles of new fence so leave it to our politicians to do the absolute minimum. I understand the border is 2400 miles long which means this bill covers roughly a fifth of it.

As for defending the rest of the border how about using the US military. We have troops defending Korea's border, Germany's border, Iraq's border etc. We should have them defend our border.

When we start bringing troops home from Germany and other countries (Bush signed a bill during the last election to start reducing some of our foreign bases) they should be placed on our border with Mexico. In combination with a wall that would really start to get control of the problem.

We need a Wall of Americans compensated by the federal government to guard our borders in addition to the fence and surveillance equipment.

The section that is ten miles west of the Calexico, CA port of entry to five miles east of the Douglas, AZ port of entry is more like about 330 miles. I kind of scaled it off of my atlas. So it is close to 700 miles.

    Border Guard

OK how about a compromise. We could have a civilian Border guard. It would work like the national guard only at the Federal level. They would work three weeks a month patroling the border and then train one week a month as soldiers.

Then like the National guard when needed they could become full time soldiers. Also they could be used in national emergencies like Katrina etc.

The silence is deafening in the pro-illegal forums since the fence bill passed. LOL. They are so pissed off they don't even want to talk about it. I love it!

This is why I didn't get too excited over this passing of the fence bill because I knew they would do something to minimize the impact. They do this crap all the time. I know how the game is played. I warned you all about this, but nobody would listen. If they were serious about this, they would fence off the entire southern border, all 2,000 miles and they would fund it and make sure it was almost impossible to penetrate.

This is just typical do nothing congressional BS. Making it look like they are trying to do something when they aren't. Some of the public might be dumb enough to be fooled by these traitors, but not all, and certainly not me. Sad part is some of you here fell for it and now you all have egg on your faces when I knew better not to trust these do nothings.

Note to members, these parasites in our government are professional pathological liars. They are masters of deception. They have made a living out of lying to the public, they know all the tricks. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if they went to a college and got their degree in BS 101. It's not trust, but verify, it's don't trust and verify their lies.

I'm confused. I thought the authorized the building of the fence, and just recently decided to FUND the 700 miles.

Not that it matters one way or the other if it never happens. I'll believe it when the entire fence is 100% complete.
I don't care what you call me, so long as you call me AMERICAN.

Does it really matter if it's 700? It aint 2400 either which is the entire southern border. Again it's another half baked measure to make it look like they are doing something when they aren't doing jack. They aren't serious about stopping this invasion and they never will be until it's too late.
