S.978 would put people in jail putting a news story on YOUTU

S.978 today just passed the Senate Judiciary Committee. This bill would make it a felony not only to stream inportant news videos but to watch them with a penalty of UP TO 5 YEARS IN PRISON. ALIPAC gets no help today from even the Fair and Balanced Fox News. Now the Government is trying to regulate the internet.

    Please read this Bloomberg link:

    Please call your Senator today:

    202-224-3121

Please stop the people wanting to do harm to are country in the name of Social Justice from Regulating the Internet and Destroying not just free speech but the Alternative News Media. This bill will have effects on ALIPAC to stream news videos.

Stop this bill from passing the Senate. Remind the Republicans with the CONTRACT WITH AMERICA you promised a free and open internet.

    I suggest you read again.

This talks about streaming "illegal video" over the internet which means copyrighted material w/o the approval of the owner of the video. It also says for "commercial purposes" which means streaming someone else's property over the internet to make a profit on someone else's work.

This wouldn't harm ALIPAC as ALIPAC isn't streaming video for profit and ALIPAC doesn't even host other people's video's on its site but offer links to the video itself. What this would hurt is all the video piraters out there increasing the penalties and so forth... but specifically to go after the pirating rings themselves and not specifically at random Joe who watches streamed the lattest Harry Potter movie from whatever pirate site.
