Sen. Glenn McConnell amendment addresses illegal immigration

Senator Glenn McConnell proposes an amendment to address illegal immigration. However, according to Article V of the Constitution, it takes two thirds of all states before Congress will call a Convention.

Therefore, contact your state legislatures and encourage them to file a similar amendment (to allow states to enforce the laws to expel illegal aliens).

NOTE: Article V does not require same-subject amendment applications, so if you have other amendments you'd like your state to submit, please do that too!

This is going to be the only way to get it done anyway with out giving amnesty to everyone, there is no way the feds will ever be able to enforce the laws and deal with this many people with out the help of state and local law enforcement. So lets get it done!!!

Constitutional Article V Convention-Stop Illegal Immigration

This may be the only way to get ANY reforms passed.
    http://www.article-5.org/mod/resource/view.php?id=76

By the way, three times in history, two-thirds of the states have submitted applications for amendments, and Congress violated the Constitution. The government even admitted it in a Supreme Court case against Congress for NOT calling an Article V Convention.

So the same-subject excuse that some politicians use is false.

At any rate, if two-thirds of all states can ever get together and submit applications to the states ASAP (on illegal immigration and any other reasons such as Term Limits, Balanced Budget, Campaign Finance Reform, Executive War Powers with/without Congress' Approval, One-Purpose-Per-BILL, anti-chain-Immigration, deny citizenship to offspring from illegal aliens, Gerrymandering, Election Reform, etc.).

Otherwise, I'm not sure we will ever get the conflcting federal laws and state laws in synch, and the finger-pointing and blame-game will continue as local governments refuse to enforce the law and choose to blame the federal government, and the federal government continues to do what it does best: little (if anything).

Lastly, government won't become more responsible and accountable as long as too many voters reward Congress with 95% to 99% re-election rates. Eventually, enough voters must make that connection, or the disparity trend will continue: http://one-simple-idea.com/DisparityTrend.htm#Chart

Pulling the party lever empowers and rewards bad behavior, and encourages more bad behavior.

SOSADFORUS, Good point about cutting federal funding for states that refuse to enforce the laws.

SOSAD, I'll send it John Goedde, too. I don't think we'll have a probably getting Idaho to sign an amendment.

Thanks. If we can get 34 states to do this, it will allow state and local governments to do what the federal government won't, and it will eliminate one of the magnets that attract illegal aliens to the U.S. (e.g. automatic citizenship for offspring of illegal aliens paving the way for the illegal alien parent(s) to get blue passports ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Sta ... _passports ) and stay in the U.S. indefinitely).

Senator Glenn McConnell proposes an amendment to address illegal immigration. However, according to Article V of the Constitution, it takes two thirds of all states before Congress will call a Convention.
