Reid predicts Silver State Hispanics will be blue in ‘08

Sen. Harry Reid predicted Hispanics will back Democrats in 2008.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – The Hispanic vote is key to winning Nevada in 2008, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters Thursday in a conference call. And the Nevada Democrat predicted that this important voting bloc will back his party’s presidential nominee next year.

Reid claimed the Democratic Party’s outreach efforts to the Hispanic community, as well as the Republican Party’s stand on immigration reform will drive Hispanic voters away from the GOP.


In Nevada, Reid said Democrats have been using "creative" methods to reach out to potential voters such as starting an adult soccer team and creating a Spanish language Web site.

Isn't that the truth and if the Republicans had any kind of national leader ship they would use Immigration as a wedge issue in the 2008 campaign. I think that the Illegal Immigration issue will be the #1 issue in this election cycle surpassing the Iraq war, taxes and health care.

How stupid can these politicans be......it is absolutely amazing that they
think they are securing votes for themselves by courting the alien vote.
When the aliens become the majority the WA crowd will be kicked to the

I agree, if the illegals find a way to vote in this country they will only vote in hispanics that pander to them and give them lot's of free goodies and social programs paid for by working Americans that are still lucky enough to still have a job themselves.

Exactly. Reps must have the dumbest political strategists ever running their campaigns. Even dumber than the Dems in '04. JUST DECLARE AN END TO THE INVASION.

They still think that the lobbies are more powerful than us. And strangly, that ethnocentric voters are more powerful than their base. If they continue on this course, they are DONE. That's it, Hillary '08. Because patriots will sit on the sidelines, or vote Third Party.
