Senators Challenge Pres. Obama on Rumors of Executive Order Amnesty

Several Senators have learned of a possible plan by the Obama Administration that would provide a mass Amnesty for the nation's 11-18 million illegal aliens. Led by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), eight Senators addressed a letter to the President asking for answers to questions about a plan that would allow DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to provide an amnesty if they can't secure enough votes for a bill in the Senate.

The letter that was sent to Pres. Obama earlier today asks the President for clarification on the use of deferred action or parole for illegal aliens. The executive actions are typically used in special cases and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but if 60 votes can't be secured in the Senate to pass a mass Amnesty, the Administration may use the discretionary actions as an alternative.

Here is the text of the letter signed by Sens. Grassley, Hatch (R-Utah), Vitter (R-La.), Bunning (R-Ky.), Chambliss (R-Ga.), Isakson (R-Ga.), Inhofe (R-Okla.), and Cochran (R-Miss.).

Dear President Obama:

We understand that there’s a push for your Administration to develop a plan to unilaterally extend either deferred action or parole to millions of illegal aliens in the United States. We understand that the Administration may include aliens who have willfully overstayed their visas or filed for benefits knowing that they will not be eligible for a status for years to come. We understand that deferred action and parole are discretionary actions reserved for individual cases that present unusual, emergent or humanitarian circumstances. Deferred action and parole were not intended to be used to confer a status or offer protection to large groups of illegal aliens, even if the agency claims that they look at each case on a “case-by-caseâ€

At this point in time , Would it matter?

HS has all but stopped any raids or actions against employers, They are back to full tilt catch and release, They are suing Arizona for wanting to enforce current federal law.

At this point in time the borders are wide open and illegals have very little to fear.

These Repub Congress members act as if this is a new or recent Obama policy.

Dixie & Alipac have been tracking Obama Policy Amnesty since he took office.

Maybe these Repubs need to read Dixies list.

We would appreciate receiving a commitment that the Administration has no plans to use either authority to change the current position of a large group of illegal aliens already in the United States, and ask that you respond to us about this matter as soon as possible.

This latest detail tends to support the allegation by Kyl that Obama is refusing to secure the border,until he gets amnesty for illegals. To hell with all the unemployed americans,and construction workers who are threatened and attacked by illegals on the job sites.Obama does not care!! I was amused by his fathers day speech,encouraging men to stand up and provide for their families and pay their child support. Kind of hard to do without a job!

These people are truly wrecking our nation. Amnesty, or the never ending welcome to illegal aliens for years and years to come, will truly result in the collapse of our nation. Millions of non English speaking individuals, many with little education, questionable backgrounds, all seeking free things. We could not take it, nor would we desire to be accessories to the crimes of this government.

I think the day after he was elected he passed the order to back off any enforcement at all.

What they are doing now is just token , nothing has improved

The dems have still stopped anything that would lead to even moderate enforcement.

Basically they would be saying "come one,come all" we will take ANYBODY Into our country. We will feed you,bathe you and give you comfort. We prefer Illegal Aliens over our OWN U.S. CITIZENS,because we know that you will vote for us In any future elections. WE CANNOT TRUST OUR OWN CITIZENS with regard to this Issue. We will break our oath of office,and we will break our own Federal Laws that say that you CANNOT aid and abett Illegal aliens We are the rulers of the world,and If we cannot get the 60 votes that we need to passs an Amnesty,we will once again just simply change or BREAK the rules to get exactly what we want,and to HELL with our own U.S. citizens
