    It just really really hurts

    Friends,

I have to express myself on this. I know the purpose of this gathering place is for positive action. This place is a place to energize and share ideas and focus on projects that will help our cause of securing America.
But I hope you will forgive me this one post where I just have to express my feelings. Maybe it will give others a chance to express theirs too.
This is a post about emotions and feelings and not about efforts.

    I am very hurt.
I mean that quite honestly. Very very hurt.
Last night I watched a special on HBO. It was called America's Mexican and it starred George Lopez. After watching it, I came to the boards to express my disgust and anger on the George Lopez thread.
This post isn't just about the Lopez comedy routine. It is a little more then that. Watching that show last night gave my husband such a headach he literally went to bed after. I was just angry. But all today I have just felt off. Then a few minutes ago, it occured to me what it was. I am hurt. I am blue. I am sad. I am just hurt.

My husband is retired military. I am also a vet. You cannot image the things we have experienced. You cannot imagine how much we love our country. We love it. It is our home. It is our identity. We have lived in persuit of her safety. It is our children's birthright.

Last night I watched a man trod all over my country and the people of my country. It hurt. This man symbolically wiped his butt and pretended to pee on the food this country raises to feed our citizens and the crowd cheered. He cursed my president and my govenor. He bragged, strutted, profained and insulted this country and its citizens. And it hurt.

America is a great country. It has always been a great country. It may not always be a great country. I feel sick. Immigrants come for many different reasons. I would hope that they come here because they want to be Americans and share in the dream. I would hope that they have a greater purpose then to come her and disparage her, use up her resources and someday disassemble her.

I have been in tears all day but I wasn't sure why. Until now.
I am a tough broad. I wore combat boots when other women were going to college. I do not cry. But George Lopez made me cry.

I love America. I just needed to say that.
I don't understand alot of what the government is doing right now.
I don't understand what a lot of the citizens are thinking right now.
But I think my country is in trouble. The greatest Lady ever.
    And it hurts.

Right now overseas there are men and women in great jeopardy. Whether you agree with our actions there or not, we are there. Our young men and women will see on tv what I saw. They will also be hurt. They deserve so much better.

God bless my America to keep her safe and strong.

I feel the same way, I love this country. I hate to see all the AntiAmerican bs around this area. It makes me went to throw up, they are disgusting. More in more our country is turning into a third world nation, it disgusts me. Looking at Mexico and central/south America they are commie nations, with people that don't care about freedom like we do. They have people that don't work or put any thought into bettering there selfs. They vote people that would take away everything they have, just for like the USSR would done. A full blown commie came with in 1% percent of the Mexican vote this fall, that is no joke. "We"(Government) go down this path to our very end of our freedoms. 50,000 votes removed the party that had at least 50-80 members in it that love this country from power. Yes 50-80 thousand votes did that. A Amnesty would shift this country to the left/commuistic, that freedom and are rights might be gone forever. This is the biggest threat of this Amnesty. We won't be a super power in 10 years if Bush gets his way, heck we won't hardly be able to feed our selfs. Some parts hopefully will not sink to northern Mexico stardards, but that maybe wishful thinking. This is not just our future but our children and theres to. Pray to god we can stop this. This is how serious this is.

Thank you for serving our country ProudAmericanfamily.

I have family who have served, and I am thankful to all our veterens and the men and women serving now for our FREEDOM.

I feel the same pain and I think all patriotic Americans feel it too. I have not seen the HBO special and I don't think I want to from all the reports I hear about it. I think the Amerian public should boycott every show, event or special this traitor does for the rest of his career.

I know other entertainers and singers have been boycotted in the past, but what he is saying in that HBO show is plain hatred toward America.

He should leave the country. He's a traitor and he's making money at it!

I think I'm going to write HBO complaint. I might even cancel. I'm not going to put any money in this traitor's pocket.

Don't give George Lopez any more of your time or your energy.

    Watch a better TV show.

    ProudAmericanFamily,

First of all, thankyou, and your husband for what you have done. You and yours gave so that others could benefit. As Winston Churchil said, so much owed by so many to so few.

Don't pay that fool too much attention. He's the neighborhood blowhard. He's got a mouth, and knows how to push buttons. And that's about it. He'll get his in the end, as every dog has his day, and what goes around, comes around. Karma is very interesting sometimes. That's what I've tried to teach my kids, and think I did a pretty good job of, as they are decent citizens.

My only hope is that we have a country to hand them when our time is done.

Proud American family, please remember that we all feel and understand your pain. Put all the anger and hurt into fighting for the cause. Making calls, sending email and faxes will empower you and make your voice heard. Believe me you will feel much better. It works for me.

This is not a hopeless fight. We will win. God is on our side. Like Dixie said find a better show. Lopez does not deserve your time. Hang in there, you are not alone.

    PAF:

***Thanks so much to you and your husband for serving***

Please hang in there. I think all of us here have our own private moments when we also think about these things too.

I was just wondering... have you considered writing Mr. Lopez and telling him how you feel? It would be curious to relate your service to the country, and then ask him, what has he done in this regard? (other than offer sarcastic quips and criticisms...) and it might offer a certain, well, how should we say, 'therapeutic value' as well.

Just remember, you are amongst friends here and we know EXACTLY how you feel. Time to dump Lopez - replace him with someone better!

PAF - Thanks for you and your husbands service!

It does hurt. It hurts in a lot of ways too. To me it also hurts that Mr Lopez's behavior and other like him is not only tolerated but encouraged among certain circles! The very things that Lopez does are the things we grew up believing you didn't do.

But you know what, we do have a choice in this and we have history and Great American Heroes behind us and among us. We will prevail because honor and our ancestors require it and our children and posterity can have no less. We will prevail all because of great Americans like you and your husband! Take heart you are indeed among friends and countrymen who will stand where you stand.

    God Bless America!

ProudAmericanFamily, my husband is a Vietnam Vet. He was in the Air Force. We both have been feeling the way you do.

I have felt that same feeling of despair, not so long ago. I was in this great local antique store, called "Nostalgia". Everything there was 1900's stuff, all very Americana. I felt good being there, but also sad. I was showing my kids things that I remembered from the 70's, and then also stuff that was around when my parents were kids.

I felt sad that my kids would never know an America that was so innocent. They would not get the chance to grow up with that wide eyed innocense many generations before them had. I walked out of there in tears, trying to explain to them what was bothering me.

Made matters worse, there was a "peace Rally" here in Portland, they showed on the news. Although many of the protesters were calm, all too many, those with that vehement hatred for the USA, were down there screaming and ranting with their nasty signs.

I understand the feelings you are having, I know I have, many times, and I'm sure many others have too.

Tonight on Turner Classic Movies, there was a John Wayne movie playing. All American movie, you should watch it. The good old days. They remind me of my father, as he was an old westerns fan, but especially John Waynes as most of his movies were shot right here in Oregon, and our vacations were driving around seeing the spots where they shot some of the movies, as well as the remaining ruts from the wagon trains on the old Oregon Trail. Now thats America!!!!!!
