Thread: Sheriff Arpaio: Trump can 'negotiate' on immigration laws

Sheriff Joe Arpaio rejected suggestions Wednesday that Donald Trump was softening on immigration, saying the Republican presidential nominee would “negotiate” an approach to illegal immigration with minority groups.

“I don’t know about softening the stance. He is going to meet with the minority groups. He is a great negotiator,” the Republican sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona told CNN’s Carol Costello.

“Why not meet with the people and explain what — how he feels and maybe negotiate and see how they feel. There is nothing wrong with that,” he added.

When Costello suggested Arpaio was also “softening” his own position on immigration, he assured her that immigration laws would be enforced and the wall across the U.S. Mexico border was “more needed now than ever."

Arpaio, who is known for his strong stance against illegal immigration, refused to address possible charges against him for contempt of court for ignoring court orders to stop racially profiling against Latinos.

Kellyanne Conway has totally and completely confused everyone and destroyed Trump's 16 month effort to change immigration attitudes and policy in the United States. Not even his staunchest allies know what to say at this point. She needs to be firde now. Trump needs to see this, listen to her absolutely stupid interviews, multiple ones per day, for 4 straight days, and he'll go "oh my god, get her out of here, now." And if you don't see what she's done to Trump on immigration, just wait until she starts flapping her gums on trade. She was an ALL-IN for Cruz who as we know supports the TPP.
