Yeah, but remember on Proposition 187, that never went to the US Supreme Court. And it was not ruled on the US Constitution equal protection clause, it was ruled on as states had no authority over immigration on the basis that the federal government had exclusive authority over immigration, which of course is a big fat lie.

To address this, we need a simple bill that says:

    1. Any state or other political subdivision has the authority and power to enforce US immigration law, provided however, that all determinations of fact concerning status are verified by the federal government at the time of arrest or within 24 hours thereafter, and physical removal is coordinated with federal authorities to ensure proper deportation destinations.

Texas did not emphasize in its argument the distinction between citizens and privileges created by a State for citizens, an argument which is harmony with the wording of the 14th Amendment and its legislative intent.

In fact, the wording of the amendment does make a distinction between persons and citizens, and limits its available protection to persons as related to "life liberty or property", not privileges created by a state for its citizens, or "citizens of the United States".

The other reason the school district lost its case in Plyler vs Doe is because they didn't do their homework on the numbers, the cost, and the harm to the school district. The whole attitude of the school district was they are not legal residents and have to be charged tuition just as any non resident student would be charged attending a school outside of their legal residence. I believe they thought they had it covered on that simple premise, but of course it got more complicated and became a "race-baited" case and to defend against that they needed more math and cost numbers to show the court and were unprepared in that vein. Give a DemoQuack Judge an inch and of course they steal a mile, which is what Plyler vs Doe has done to the United States educational system. A travesty that must be corrected.

There are now decades of data that show the declining education achievement of American schools coupled with an exorbitant increase in cost. This is due solely to the foreign influence, foreign presence, foreign language, foreign culture, and in general foreign interference and foreign drain on the resources upon which American schools were based to begin with.

All of that would take government action - local, state or federal.

Surely we can see that isn't going to happen. We have to stop believing any government entity is going to actually do anything about this.

We have to take action ourselves. We can vote against any of these politicians - from local mayor to President - and hope we might get some honest people in there.

What we must do is keep our money in our pockets rather than give it to the companies that hire illegals - or support illegals/refugees/unaccompanied whatevers.

I wish someone would start such a movement - I'm too old and don't really know how, but I truly believe if we did that, it would make a difference - but we would have to get it going country wide. If we wait until we realize nothing is going to be done, it will be too late. The longer we wait, the more entrenched they become, the more laws will get 'reinterpreted', etc. If we start now, maybe we can make it easier for the President to get something done.

This is a war as surely as any other. They are using our tax dollars and the monies we spend to take our country from us. Right now, our money is the only weapon we have left in this fight.

We did elect a President, but he is still fighting the same groups he fought to get elected - and many more. We can't pretend just getting a person elected is all we have to do. We also can't pretend those in our local, state and federal governing bodies are suddenly going to develop a conscience and do the right thing. If they had a sliver of a conscience left, they would have already done something.

You are right Judy, Proposition 187 like so many bills Californians voted for died in the Ninth Circuit Court. The sad fact is that if the state Attorney or the Governor are not willing to fight or represent the people of the state in court, the Proposition dies.

The voters of California stood up as tall as possible to stop this travesty in our country with their Proposition 187. The voters of California knew the consequences of illegal immigration, because they were living it every single day. The best that a non-violent non-warring citizen can do is all the work required to pass a Statewide Initiative Referendum to address this issue to change their state laws by changing their State Constitution. Every state in the country should do this next election. Pass a simple Proposition 187 that denies all state funding to illegal aliens.

Every state needs to get this on the next ballot and grind this crap to a halt. The National Republican Governors Association needs to take up this issue as well. We have at least 30 states who voted for Donald Trump, the best thing we can do to support his efforts to help US is get a Proposition 187 on at least every state that Trump won.

The reality is, there is no way a President or even a governor is going to get around giving education to illegal children. That would get it to the Supreme Court and it would take years to get it decided - as the states continue to provide education for illegals.

The only solution is to get them out of the country.

Yes, the states will simply raise property taxes, fees, fines, permits, professional licenses, auto registration, sales taxes, etc., etc.

Getting them out is the only solution.

We have a National Guard in Texas, and we know we once had a Texas Air National Guard - let's put them on the border - NOW. That could have been done Day One. Stop the flow in - and begin the flow out.

How many have actually been deported? If they have been ordered deported, why are they still here?

We have a whole host of transportation systems that could be used.

The government subsidizes AMTRAK - let's get a train going to the border, stopping along the way to pick up the deportees. We have military transports that could move a lot of people. We could charter buses.

It isn't that 'complex'. The only thing really lacking is the will. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone in Washington, or any state capitol actually has that will. We know from the past, there are many who do not -

We, the people, have to take economic action against the employers of the illegals.

Why do we do business with employers that blatantly and openly employ thieves, child molesters, rapists, and other various forms of miscreants? Why do we leave our monies in banks that make huge profits from laundering drug money and from money transfers by illegals? Why do we buy food products and other goods., from ones who do?

If we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem.

That is absolutely right. 100%. There is no clean, neat white collar regulation or law that will solve our illegal immigration problem. I wish there was, but there isn't. It's a physical contact problem. It's deportation and removal, which is physical. It requires boots and shoes on the ground, armed and vested law enforcement officers, chasing them, hunting them down, catching them, struggling with them, ducking rocks, bullets, knives, machetes, kicking and hitting to get them detained and hold them until a hearing and then doing the same thing again to get them physically removed.

White collar think tanks and even activists hope for a series of white collar laws to fix the kinks in the system which usually involves laying blame on Americans, inconveniencing Americans, holding Americans accountable for the crimes actually committed by foreign persons in our country in violation of our laws. This won't work. Most illegal aliens aren't here for the wages, so low they can't live on them let alone raise a litter of kids on them. Most illegal aliens are here running the massive foreign drug business and other criminal enterprises. The jobs are just cover.
