Immigration reforms should be a two-tiered approach
Immigration reforms should be a two-tiered approach

Indiana is trying to pass sensible immigration law. Gov. Mitch Daniels, unfortunately, had the Arizona-style legal status check removed and wishes to focus more on employers.
That's fine, but it should be a two-tiered approach, focusing on both employers and illegal immigrants.
There is nothing wrong with checking legal status. It happens every time someone gets pulled over by the police and has to show a driver's license and registration. If you are legal, you have nothing to worry about.
The only reason agricultural officials and others are against this kind of legislation is because they condone illegal immigration. Shame on them.
Illegal immigration has a huge negative impact on our economy. We, as a sovereign nation, have every right to protect our borders and keep illegals out. If you wish to be part of America, do so legally. Period.
