I was just a kid when I suggested to Dad that we should get a new tractor because one manufacturer had come out with a new gadget or gimmick. Dad said, "Let's give them 5 years to work the bugs out, then we will look at it!" Notice he said look at it, not buy it, he never did. The advice though is still very good, it seems. He also said to me that I should not become so smart that I outsmart myself. Maybe we have passed that point?

I do not have a smartphone or any Google flashlights, for that I am grateful! Matter of fact, I stay off Google as much as I can, on purpose. I lost my confidence in Google with the introduction of Chrome. Suspiciously uneasy probably is the way to say it.
