Bulldogger, Do you rodeo? My family and I rodeo. This weekend(and every weekend) we were at a buckout. We all took our hats off as we sang the national anthem and then said a prayer. As I looked around I realized, that what I was at, is the ultimate antithesis of what our enemies are and it represented everything they despise. This is another remnant of what America was, and still is,if one looks. I would recommend that any one that has a chance,go to a rodeo and take in some pure American culture while it lasts. What I kept thinking of when I was there was how glad I am we can still do this, and about my enemies, screw em!

    Couldn't agree more.

    Howdy,
When I was a wee bit younger I did some steer wrestling but the knees and back can't handle it anymore. My buddy lent me his roping dummy and I am thinking about taking up a little roping. If that doesn't work maybe I will run barrels and poles.

It is great to hear that some families still do things together. Congratulations on that achievement. Rodeo and so many other pastimes that are unique to the United States are certainly worth fighting for.

I am not surprised at anything Hollweird does. I watch very little TV and certainly don't care to see movie stars or any other entertainers pat themselves on the backs for being well over paid. The kooks are part of our problem and society created it.

    Rodeo

Lindeloo, Oh yes, rodeo is bigger than ever! There are tons of families that are still in it. It is a remnant of what was, kind of like an old farm or building with character that hasn't been torn down by"progress".
When I'm at a rodeo,I feel like calling the P.C. police or the socialist hotline and reporting that there is still some traditional America out there and it must be stopped! Ha.Ha.
As for hollywood.they attempted to afffect the traditional American icon.the cowboy, with their movie,"Brokeback Mountain" and I am proud to report it had zero effect. It was as irrelevant as the rest of the pap they put out.

Now you are talking about a weird movie. My son found it rather disturbing! His word.

I moved to the US from England nine years ago and enjoy nothing more than travelling to the little places that time forgot. When you are in the midwest there are plenty of them. Since I was born in a country with a VERY long history I very much encourage holding on to anything that you can. We should all be proud of our traditions and 'quirkiness' too.

Of course there is an immigration issue that is growing out of proportion all over Europe too.

I have to disagree with you on this one.

Most of his speech was in English, and he was quite grateful. His mother was in the audience. He said, I apologize, but I have to say this to my mother in Spanish...

If only other hispanics behaved so...

While the rest of the country struggles to make ends meet, we get treated to a bunch of narcissistic , pampered , spoiled brats congratulating each other for making even more money.

Is it any coincidence that Hollywood for the most part supports either Obama or Clinton.
