Now the auto industry wants "bailout" money while they continue to fire Americans, ship their jobs overseas and ask for more visas to take away more white collar American jobs.

US Auto Industry Prepares For Congressional Push On Loan Plan

    September 08, 2008: 04:19 PM EST

The U.S. auto industry, seeking up to $50 billion in government loans to shore up its finances, plans to argue that its proposal differs significantly from the government's dramatic seizure of mortgage giants Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE).

The loan program being pushed by auto makers as Congress meets this month would be the third government intervention of private industry this year, following bailouts of Wall Street firm Bear Stearns and now Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Several auto-industry officials and congressional aides said they will emphasize differences between the proposals for the mortgage giants and the auto makers, framing the auto loans as an energy-saving program rather than a " bailout."

Hospitals won't be far behind. I hope ALL companies hit the government with demands for bailouts, until the government stops sees how foolish it is to throw money at these irresponsible, greedy fools.

I don't think they will ever stop. Afterall, these greedy fools put them in power. DC probably figures they owe them one. Corporate welfare is indeed a huge problem. Especially because, as mentioned, they continue to move jobs overseas. Which not only depresses our wages, but also erodes tax revenue and opens up all sorts of tax loop-holes for them. Get that? They are getting OUT OF paying taxes by outsourcing, while similtaneously getting government bailouts paid for by you and me. Its an absolute crime.
Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

Recently, my brother, who worked for Hynix, lost his job. As it stands, it is not a good market for him, and he is struggling to make ends meet with just unemployment, and we can only hope and pray that will see him through till a good job comes available (he has been told to come up and stay with all of us till he can find something good so he can save all he can for any potential move).

We have seen a lot of people out of work up here, and it is hard to watch, as they struggle to find anything to just get by on.

Where will the government get the money from when more and more Americans lose their jobs and start using social services? No job = no taxes. Keep depressing our wages, keep hitting us up for more taxes, see what will happen. Does the government think illegal aliens will support it??

This brings to mind the image from that really old Frankenstein movie, where the villagers go to the castle, and the scientist dies. In this case, we the villagers need to get the mad "scientists" out of our government, in order to rid ourselves of their constant and dangerous experiments with our nation, which have loosed a bunch of "Frankensteins" onto us.

MOD EDIT We have some mad politicians to run out of office.

Nope, apparently we need skills. Let the employers start training people.

Is it just me, or does anyone else see that this "world economy" is about to implode?
