    State Trooper Prevails Against ACLU and Illegal Aliens in Bogus Lawsuit
    On February 4, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit dismissed a lawsuit that had been filed by the ACLU against a Rhode Island state trooper who contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) upon discovering that a group of foreign nationals he encountered were illegal aliens. In dismissing the suit, the First Circuit held that the ACLU – who had sued the state trooper and the state of Rhode Island on behalf of the illegal aliens – could not prevail on the multiple causes of action they filed against the trooper because he had acted “reasonablyâ€

    This ruling, as we say, is a good thing. Instead of punishing those who enforce the law, opponents of immigration policy should go about changing the laws through the political process. Certainly, reform is long overdue

    No, enforcement is long overdue. That is what needs reforming. Along with those who willfully break the law.

    The van violated a law, and the trooper would not have done his duty to uphold laws if he had shied away from asking about the passengers just if they were Hispanics. That is what the ACLU and the other rabid pro-illegal groups are trying to do, and in some sanctuary jurisdictions they are succeeding.
