Some people seem to be happy that we sent a message to GWB. He was not running, the people that stopped Illegal Immigration in the house got voted out!!

The reason Bush threw Rummy under the Bus was to make a deal with Pelosi on Comprehensive Immigration Reform.aka Amnesty.

She demanded Rummy on a silver platter as a sacrificial gesture of his intentions.

He even said so in his speech. Watch his face when the reporter asks about Immigration and he says he looks forward to working with her on Illegal Immigration and Comprehensive Reform.

Now that the Republicans that stopped Amnesty are out of the way, GWB will get Pelosi and her allies to propose 2611 again and it will pass with flying colors.

I hate to say it but we lost big time Tuesday, and we will get Amnesty with the Democrats in power.

If the Dems are stupid enough to go against the will of the people on amnesty then they will have no chance in 08 of winning. you are already starting to see Mrs. B Clinton back peddling on the immigration issue. The reason she is back pebbling I believe is two fold. 1st she knows it will now go through without her endorsement and she know she has no chance of winning the presidency if she favors it. So now she will no longer back it. The Clinton's are great in changing with the tides. They will lie cheat steal and anything else to gain the presidency including kissing up to the Bushes in private. The second that they see something that may be a bump they will start to change there opinion to smooth the bump and go with the flow of what they deem is the publics view.

You are making the mistake of thinking in terms of individual politicians acting of their own volition. That ain't how it works. There is a hive mentality, and these guys get their marching orders from on high. They either obey or else they are brought up on "ethics" charges. Generally speaking, being brought up on ethics charges or accused of ethics violations means that you have failed to follow orders. If ethics oversight was actually about ethics, Pelosi would be in jail along with most of the Congressional leadership instead holding one of the highest offices in the land.

    You are absolutely correct.

Remember when the Democrats were all claiming to be against Illegal Immigration and yet, when it came time for the Senate to vote on SB2611 they all voted for Amnesty.

Individually, they all claimed to be for enforcement but the hive voted against it.

They even went as far to allow Mexico Veto authority on the border fence.

Correct. As the old saying goes, "the fix is in." There were still enough Republicans with some modicum of ethics to prevent the selling out of America to Mexico, regardless of what the hive mind told them to do. They have been scuttled for their insubordination, and they have been replaced by drones of the amoral Democrat Party, which has rarely missed an opportunity to demonstrate its un-American and ofter anti-American attitude. There is no silver lining to this cloud, and now we're going to have to figure out how to weather a two-year storm.

Crocket, I was thinking this same thing last night. Yet, there were a few who "obeyed" the boss very well and they got canned too.

    How do we explain that?

There are always the normal election dynamics at play as well. Things like links to lobbyists and other ethical questions always come into play. There was also a very real voter backlash from those who think only in terms of party affiliation. In other words, a lot of Republicans lost votes as a no-confidence vote against Bush.

I have a theory about this, tell me what you think of it.

A lot of people voted according to what they saw happening in their areas. Not everyone is up to date on who exactly has been fighting against illegal immigration. Not everyone has a computer and they do not know the details.

Some people in the areas of high illegal immigration may have voted their congressman out because they felt that the person wasn't doing a good job based on what they saw happening in their area. A lot of people might not have realized that their person in congress was actually trying to do something about it.

Also there is always the possibility of the votes in those areas having been tampered with....perhaps illegals voting as well.

I think it was probably just a mix of anger without enough infromation from cable news sources and computers.

    Possible?
