Administration to Add 2nd Layer of Steel Spikes to White House Fence …Border Still Open

Remember when Barack Obama said “fences won’t work” as an excuse to keep the border open to illegal aliens?

Yeah, well the Obama White House is adding another layer of steel spikes to the top of the White House fence.

The US border is still open.

The AP reported, via Free Republic:

The Secret Service is adding a second layer of steel spikes to the top of the White House fence to keep would-be intruders at bay, according to a proposal submitted to the National Capitol Planning Commission.

The 1/2-inch long steel “pencil point” spikes will be snapped into place at the top of the fence and protrude outward, according to a diagram included in the proposal submitted for the Secret Service by that National Park Service. The spikes will be added to the fence along the north and south sides of the White House grounds.

The commission is expected to approve the proposal at a hearing Thursday afternoon.

The Secret Service has been studying ways to improve security at the White House since a Texas man was able to climb over the fence and run deep into the executive mansion in September.

Had the Secret Service been adequately performing that Texas man would not made it to the executive mansion. So. the taxpayer gets stuck with more "updating expense" because of immature job performance. More GOV''T B.S.

Who in Washington D.C. is trustworthy? Are'nt we tired of it yet?

White House Strengthening Fence To Keep Out Undocumented Visitors

It's a hateful and misguided effort rife with prejudice and discrimination...

The White House is planning to put spikes up along its existing fence in an effort to keep undocumented visitors off the grounds. It’s a hateful and misguided effort rife with prejudice and discrimination.

People who come to the White House do so as an act of love, to affirm their connection with our nation. Many do so in search of a better life, and their presence only improves the White House. A country that is a nation of immigrants is also a White House of immigrants, is it not?

But with a stout fence keeping people out, who will cut the lawns at the White House? Who will perform maid service? And who will perform janitorial duties in the Situation Room? These are jobs Americans won’t do.

But the White House chooses to stigmatize these undocumented visitors. Yes, they could wait in line and show an ID to get in; but asking for identification is clearly racist, especially for blacks and Hispanics, who don’t have identification like white people do. The White House should tear down the fence altogether, relying on a “smart barrier”–cameras and sensors–to keep track of who is entering the grounds. At every entrance to the White House should be a sign-in sheet where those entering have to put their name, address, and check a box indicating whether they’ve ever been convicted of a felony. As long as they haven’t committed any crimes, or at least say they haven’t, why should this be a problem? After all, our own Homeland Security department is vetting undocumented immigrants largely relying on their own self-reporting; so why not do the same for undocumented visitors to the White House?

Just think: do we really want undocumented visitors to the White House to be lurking in the shadows? Should the Secret Service be in the business of arresting anyone who comes on the grounds simply because they lack documentation? What’s wrong with day laborers who want to hang out in the back yard of the White House? It is the peoples’ house, isn’t it?

Found the above article on another site however there was a little more so will add here.

It's bad enough when the Secret Service arrests undocumented visitors, but almost as bad is asking them to leave. This "self-deport" option runs the real risk of separating families, if one family member is caught and evicted while others are still roaming the White House grounds. Do we really want to be a White House that breaks up families?

I also think that there should be special privileges for young undocumented visitors, or DREAMers, as I call them. They should be allowed to roam the family wing of the White House as they wish. Children like to play with other children, and it is only natural that young visitors to the White House would want to meet Sasha and Malia. They should also be given food, clothes, and places to sleep in the White House. After all, even if their parents have broken the law by coming onto the White House grounds without documentation, their children shouldn't be punished for that.

    Don't you agree?
