Michele Bachmann Could Make Mike Huckabee The Fred Thompson Of 2012

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Mike Huckabee had hoped to coast through the summer with a run for president in his back pocket.

    Michele Bachmann just picked it.

Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, won the Iowa caucuses in 2008 and has not been taken all that seriously as a potential candidate in 2012 thus far, mostly because he has indicated little appetite for it. But his polling numbers – a Gallup survey released Friday showed him leading 10 other potential GOP candidates with 19 percent support – and the fact that he continues to lead in many polls is forcing the political world to take a Huckabee bid seriously.

Bob Vander Plaats, the Iowa political activist who was state chair of Huckabee’s campaign here in 2008, talks regularly with him. Huckabee, he said, is thinking seriously about a run.

“Anybody who reads the polls and thinks Huckabee is not seriously considering getting in this race is absolutely nuts,â€

I support Bachmann and will continue doing so as well. The problem is that many are still thinking the Tea Party as a bunch of right wing conservative nuts which realistically they aren't but that's what the Media want us to think. If the Tea Party can embrace more independents and moderate dem voters who side on most of the issues it will be a force to be reckoned with in a major way. The few issues that are holding back the Tea Party and really a lot of potential Conservative siding voters are simply religion, abortion, and a form of middle ground on gay rights. Many don't like the feeling of religion forced down their throat which alone is probably the cause of the biggest lost of potential conservative voters. Then many middle grounders would rather just ignore the abortion issue as they know it will never be solved and really don't care. Many middle grounders like gay rights for civil unions but would support no actual marriage and no family orientated benefits or adoption.

Now in some areas the TP tried and step away from all the no wins besides religion but if they could relax a bit more independants and moderate dems would flock to them such as I have. But damn do we hate when someone tries to ridicule us for a different religion or force catholicism or christianity down our throats!
