'Tis the season to cross the border illegally

'Tis the season to cross the border illegally

    November 25, 2018

    Chuck Norris

Anyone who knows me knows that I love and respect all peoples around the world. I’ve filmed my major motion action films in so many countries, and had such great experiences in doing so.

Immigration is a big and hot issue right now. We need to welcome people from all around the world. But at the same time, we need to do it in a way that is not breaking our laws, dismantling our republic or jeopardizing the safety and health of our citizens.

We need to welcome people into America from all over the planet, but we need not fear or avoid better vetting immigrants to make sure that we are not allowing criminals and more crime into our country.

I believe in law and order. I believe without it there is chaos and anarchy. And right now, that is exactly what is still happening at our southern border. It is out of control.

On Thanksgiving, President Trump threatened to close the borders with Mexico if his administration believes that Mexico has lost control of the migrant situation.

Fox News reported that Tijuana’s Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum called the migrant situation a “humanitarian crisis” and that “international groups like the United Nations [need] to step up aid in response to the more than 5,000 migrants who have arrived in the city over the past two weeks in an attempt to reach the U.S. border.” He added that “the Mexican federal government had not helped the city deal with the massive influx of migrants.”

The Military Times just reported the White House signed a new “Cabinet order” that allowed the “Department of Defense military personnel” to “perform those military protective activities that the Secretary of Defense determines are reasonably necessary” to protect border agents, including “a show or use of force (including lethal force, where necessary), crowd control, temporary detention, and cursory search.”

Yahoo News reported that American soldiers set off rockets and helicopters hovered overhead on Thanksgiving day at the busy San Ysidro port of entry border crossing as “dozens of U.S. police wearing helmets and holding rifles formed a line facing the Mexican side of the frontier. Separately, riot police rehearsed deployment movements. U.S. Customs and Border Protection called all of this a ‘large-scale readiness exercise.'”
According to a Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data, U.S. immigration populations from the Northern Triangle – namely El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, where gang violence has escalated to some of the highest murder rates in the world, continue to be on the rise.
Under the Obama administration, immigration from the Northern Triangle rose by 25 percent from 2007 to 2015. Over half are illegal immigrants.

However, this fall has brought some of the highest numbers of illegal immigrants in over a decade, according to Princeton Policy Advisors. And with thousands more migrants from the Northern Triangle at our border, ’tis the season to cross the border illegally!

The problem is that the gang violence from their countries is being imported into the U.S. with them. Even Mexico’s ambassador to Washington, Geronimo Gutierrez, told the Washington Examiner “there are people that have criminal backgrounds” in the migrant caravan. Gutierrez would not estimate a number, but a Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said that there are more than 500 criminals traveling in the caravan.

Tragically, in our pursuit to provide asylum for some migrants fleeing national violence, we have abandoned law and order and enabled criminals and criminal activity to pour into our country at a rate that is unprecedented in American history. International crime rings, human trafficking, drug and gun smuggling, and even heinous killers are virtually walking right into our country and most communities. (You can read more proof in my recent series of articles, “Seven clear and present dangers still at our borders.”)

Organized crime groups and cartels continue to use our entire southern border to infiltrate and criminalize our country, and at the top of the heap is MS-13 the notorious and barbaric gang from the Northern Triangle, which has proliferated in just about every major city in the U.S., as well as a host of rural communities.

One further example was seen just two months ago when MS-13 took over a small rural farm town in Central California with a population of 11,000 people, and used it as a base for their operations. Mendota and other areas of Fresno County were used to “conduct their crimes, to hide out from crimes that they committed in other jurisdictions and to prepare to commit crimes in states as far away as New York,” Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp said at a news conference in Fresno with state and federal officials.

After uncovering evidence tying the gang to at least 30 murders and assaults in Mendota, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York City and Houston, authorities arrested and charged more than two dozen MS-13 gang members and affiliates.

Do we really not think MS-13 members lie within the caravan ready to come into the U.S.?

Despite 17 years since 9/11, it is a proven fact that criminals, terrorists and others who hate our country are still – right this very minute – invading it. As Rep. Mark Wayne Mullen (R-OK), businessman and former professional mixed martial arts fighter, explained, “Al Qaeda had a vested interest in illegally sending terrorists into our country over our northern and southern borders, according to a declassified Counter Intelligence Agency (CIA) report. ISIS propaganda material was found encouraging illegal crossings on our southwest border. ISIS knows of our nation’s immigration loopholes and is actively seeking to utilize them. The Los Angeles Times reported in 2012 that Osama Bin Laden pursued recruiting terrorists with Mexican passports to plan another attack on the United States. DHS announced that in 2017, they came across more than 2,500 individuals on the terrorist watch list with plans to travel to the United States. This means that on average, seven suspected terrorists are stopped daily attempting to enter our country and harm our citizens.”
That is why the president tweeted on Black Friday, demanding lawmakers on both sides of the aisle come together to tackle border security: “Republicans and Democrats MUST come together, finally, with major Border Security package, which will include funding for the Wall. After 40 years of talk, it is finally time for action. Fix the Border, for once and for all, NOW!”

Say what you will about president Trump, but he has done more to secure the U.S. southern border than four decades of congresses and presidents before him.

It’s time to restore law and order at our borders. It’s time to welcome migrants, but do so legally and by vetting every last one to keep the thugs and criminals out of our country and communities.

That includes cleaning up immigration laws like the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). It was established in 2012 and expanded in 2014 under Obama to cover additional illegal immigrants, yet 9th Circuit Court of Appeals continues to deny Trump from enforcing immigration laws. Recently, a recipient of the DACA program (who Obama prefers to call “Dreamers”) killed three Americans in Missouri. As of mid-2017, 2139 “Dreamers” have been convicted or accused of crimes against Americans.

I’m haunted by this truth from President Ronald Reagan: “A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.”

I think Americans should just stop using the "welcome people from all over the planet" and other "welcome migrants" routine. We really don't. Americans are actually quite fed up today with too much immigration of all types including legal immigration. Our laws need to be changed to stop illegal immigration of all types and substantially reduce legal immigration of all types as well. We have plenty of our own workers, so we don't need immigrants on any scale or scope at this time and probably never will again. Our inns are full and our coffers are empty. It all needs to stop now.

We do not need to "welcome" anybody.

We want it all shut down.

It is not a right to come here, it is a privilege and that privilege has been trampled on, used and abused.
