Cassie, just some food for thought on the abortion, gay issues.
Abortion will not be decided by the president, but by the Supreme Court. I highly doubt if Roe vs. Wade will ever be completely overturned; however, even in the unlikely event that it were, the issue would just revert back to the states. California would never outlaw abortion.
On the issue of gay marriage, this will also be determined by the states. No president can outlaw gay marriage; although, the Congress did pass the DOMA which Clinton signed.
My point is that while these issues are not unimportant, they really are not going to mean a thing if we cannot regain control of our borders and force our government to enforce our immigration laws. Within decades this country will look like Latin America el Norte. We must prioritize. First, get control of our immigration problem and then we can worry about the rest.

While those issues may be important, there are overriding issues of much greater importance we need to focus on right now, such as the invasion and colonization of our nation that must be stopped, or the USA will cease to exist. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. -Edmund Burke

As long as we have troops in Iraq, Illegal immigration will continue to take a back seat to it, so you better pray that this Iraq war resolve itself as fast as possible so that Illegal immigration becomes to top issue before the '08 election.
I personally think Iraq will 'again" be the top issue in '08 and this is bad news for ALIPAC because the majority of the American public will go in the booth and base their vote on this issue...You want Iraq off the table so that more and more Americans goes inside the booth thinking about illegal immigration.
Illegal immigration might not even be second to Iraq in '08 because the subject of global warming and freeing ourselves off foreign oil from hostile countries by creating other types of energy, seem to get some major mommentum.
I think Bush will get the senate bill throught before the next election cycle and illegal immigration will be a non issue come 2008.

BlueJersey, thank you so much for your concern for our cause.
I agree that Iraq is the #1 issue on the minds of most Americans these days.
If Bush gets his amnesty/guest worker, global warming, dependence on foreign oil--none of this will matter. This country will turn into a third world cess pool and our ability to fight against Islamists will be severely hampered. Stick a fork into us ALL, we are done.

You claim Conservatives do not believe in abortion.
Well, I consider myself Conservative and what I believe is that government can not regulate abortion or homosexuality(gay marriage). Do I approve of either, no. However, those issues are not something government will ever be able to regulate because the individual is only accountable to the higher power. Abortion and homosexual activities are between the individual and the god of their choosing. I'm only responsible to my God and my moral belief system. Abortion and homosexuality are moral issues, which are out of the grasp of the federal government and that’s the reason we have separation of church and state.
In sum, moral issues are nothing but fluffy talk coming out of politicians mouths. They don’t really matter as far as policy but they may be personal issues for some people. On the broad perspective, they are non-issues and just talking points that will never effect policy so just ignore them because they are not important. Just distractions.
Tancredo's position on abortion (as you say it is) will not effect national policy nor become law if he is elected president in 2008. Every presidential candidate, since Roe v Wade has mentioned it and to this day, nothing has changed.
Oh, gay marriage... well they are the minority and the only people concerned are the gays that want to get married.
Yawn!!!!!!!!

Read my post in the Hillary I don't think so thread. Iraq war must be solved first, if we don't get out, we'll be stuck there for decades.

So what you are saying is that the U.S shouldnt have a foreign policy??..I disagree with your ideology which suggest to just pull all U.S troops that are located all across the globe and bring them all back home to patroll the border then barricade this country and create some kind of fortress..This is a little extreme.
There's a reason why we have troops in japan, kuwait and other nations, and i dont see them ever being pulled to patrol the southern border....What you are saying is that Mexico is much more of a threat then iran, hezbolla and south korea which is ridiculous.
I do agree that Mexico needs to do more for their citizens so they wont have to cross to the U.S but i dont agree with this "azlan" non sense that ALIPCA is spewing trying to scare the U.S public into thinking that Mexico is masterplanning to take over the southwest..Those are just scare tactic to get the people to support...they are of the same kind as the scare tactics that Bush used to get us to invade Iraq..He told us how Saddam was going to attack us and everything...Same thing here, "Mexico is invading us, they are killing our childrens, taking our job yada yada.

Blue Jersey,
Before you go spouting off about 'nonsense', why don't you Google Aztlan? Or MEChA? Or the Mexica Movement? Or La Voz de Aztlan?
Here, let me show what it looks like...

Now, let's take a quick look at the MEChA agenda, shall we?You do know the meaning of those last 2 sentences, don't you?
El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán
In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlán from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny.
We are free and sovereign to determine those tasks which are justly called for by our house, our land, the sweat of our brows, and by our hearts. Aztlán belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign Europeans. We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent
Brotherhood unites us, and love for our brothers makes us a people whose time has come and who struggles against the foreigner "gabacho" who exploits our riches and destroys our culture. With our heart in our hands and our hands in the soil, we declare the independence of our mestizo nation. We are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlán.
For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada.
For The Race, everything. For those outside The Race NOTHING.

Also, BlueJersey, even if you want to say that those who espouse the "Voz de Aztlan" ideology are in the extreme, the fact is that the majority of Mexicans believe that the US stole their land. That is what they are taught in their schools. Many of them resent America and despise Americans. Why do you think they are always flying their flag in our faces? This is not rocket science.
Do you really think it is wise to allow millions upon millions of people into your country who have a long-standing, deep seated grudge against it? I think it would be common sense to say this is unwise in the least.
