We keep hearing over and over again about 10,000 "Americans" in Afghanistan. What are 10,000 "Americans" doing in Afghanistan? Are these US citizens? Did we ship 10,000 civilian citizens to Afghanistan?

Who are they talking about? Nobody anywhere will explain this.
