The head of the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) is set to retire next month, CNN reported Monday.

Connie Patrick, the director of the centers, will retire as of June 30, a spokesperson told the news network. Patrick served as the director for 15 years.

While the retirement coincides with a recent investigation by the agency’s Office of the Inspector General, a department employee told CNN that Patrick stepping down is unrelated to the probe.

The House Oversight Committee has suggested a connection between the investigation, described in an April letter sent to DHS, and Patrick’s retirement."Fed. Law Enforcement Training Centers Director to retire after OGR letter publicly exposed investigation into alleged misconduct,” the committee wrote on Twitter Monday, including photos of the letter.

The committee said the inspector general is investigating potential "wasteful spending, improper travel and prohibited personnel practices" within the FLETC.
