If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times, Bush is going to do absolutely everything possible to get his guest worker program and path to legalization for illegals! The man is not as dumb as many would like to think and he is stubborn as he$$. What is really hurting us is the heavy hitters he has on his team.

In Mexico bribes are simply the cost of doing business
I learned yesterday that bribes are called "dancing the dog."

Just a little something about Mexicans...it's kind of hard to learn about them other than the 'in your face baloney'.

He only has one heavy hitter and you know EXACTLY who that is. The rest of them (the traitor senators) are plain and simply "scared". That's what I think. I think they know that their own party will see to it that it is the end to their career if they don't "dance with the dog".

Does anyone else think that they're afraid ? Or am I wrong ? Are they just plain stupid ???

    WHICH IS IT ?

They "decide to become a citizen"
    - go across the border to an ELLIS ISLAND STATION
    - fill out their paperwork
    - and they're fairly home free

** step across the border a few steps to STATIONS set up just for them to handle their paperwork!

** SUMMARIES of legislation are not worth the space they're written on.
They always leave out the FINE PRINT! And these yahoos depend on our believing the summaries they've released.

There also will be a limit on the amount of time a guest worker can spend in America. Guest workers will be allowed to renew their W Visas, but only for a period of up to six years. At that point, the guest should decide whether to return home or enter the separate process of seeking citizenship. We cannot have people coming to America as permanent guest workers. That is why having a six-year limit is important. It keeps the meaning of the word “guest” in guest worker.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ? " Guest workers will be allowed to renew their work visas, but only for a period of up to six years. At that point, the guest should decide WHETHER TO RETURN HOME OR ENTER THE SEPARATE PROCESS OF SEEKING CITIZENSHIP."

They have a choice to STAY.....?
Yes. After six years they can apply for naturalization. So the Pence plan is amnesty.

Something that I have ALWAYS questioned about a guest worker plan is this: HEALTH INSURANCE.

First of all, are they going to let these people be "unprotected" like SO MANY Americans are ??????????????

Secondly, will these companies be FORCED to establish a health insurance plan for them ??????????

Or will the government PROVIDE health care for them WHILE MILLIONS OF AMERICANS GO WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE ?????????????

OMG....what a good point you have there LegalUSCitizen! Surely there must be some plan (at the taxpayers expense) of making sure our "guests" have access to health care. A Medicaid type plan for all guest-workers perhaps? One thing is for sure, their employers certainly won't be paying for it! After all, paying slave wages, while providing zero benefits, is their idea of hog heaven.

you're so right.......this government lives for 'social services.' They'd have this one covered for certain and it will almost certainly be done in a way that will protect big business.

Until we have a border fence like the one in San Ysidro all the way to Brownsville the border will not be secure.
