Trump Announces Transition Team: Includes Children Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric — Jared Kushner, Peter Thiel, Steve Bannon

Donald Trump announced his Transition Team on Friday afternoon.

Vice President-elect Mike Pence will take over the job of leading the Trump Transition Team from Governor Chris Christie.

Donald Trump has included three of his adult children on the team, Don Jr, Ivanka and Eric, along with Jared Kushner, his son in law.



Gay Paypal co-founder Peter Thiel and Campaign manager Stephen K. Bannon will also be part of the team as well as donor Rebekah Mercer and RNC chairman Reince Priebus.

The New York Times reported:

The president-elect told advisers he wanted to tap Mr. Pence’s Washington experience and contacts to help move the process along, according to people familiar with the discussions. An executive committee including members of Congress will advise Mr. Pence as the process moves forward.

Mr. Christie, along with Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, and Michael T. Flynn, a retired lieutenant general who has been a top campaign supporter, will serve as vice chairmen of the transition, the sources said.

The transition team is adding 12 members, including a Republican donor, Rebekah Mercer; Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman; Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee; Peter Thiel, a co-founder of PayPal; Representative Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee; and three of Mr. Trump’s adult children and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Rick Dearborn, the chief of staff to Senator Jeff Sessions, Republican of Alabama, will move from the campaign’s Washington office to help run the transition office. He move will push aside Rich Bagger, who is close to Mr. Christie and had been working on the transition.

Mr. Trump’s administration is being assembled behind the scenes. But like much else in the nation’s capital, little stays secret for long.

That's a great group of people, and they will do a great job for US. Trump wants results and he wants them fast, so this is a very important team with a very very important mission. I hope they choose wisely to stay on point with the agenda so it can implemented very very quickly.

Ivanka was not born in the US and is therefore not eligible to president. Just like Ted Cruz, just like Obama's birther fans say about Obama.

She wasn't?? Where was his daughter born? Not talking about Melania.

pkskyali, Ivanka was born in the US, she was born in New York City. But the three oldest Trump children while all born in the US and are US citizens, they are not natural born citizens, born in the US to 2 US citizens. Their mother Ivana did not become a naturalized citizen until 1988, after they were born. Trump's children Tiffany and Barron are natural born citizens.

I do not care if we ever have a female President. It would be nice, but whether we do or not is irrelevant. This is not the job children, male or female, should be raised to seek or want. This is not the job that establishes or determines what heights someone can aspire to, how much money they can earn or what contributions they can make that benefit themselves, their families or our nation.

Being President should not be a "goal", it should be a response to solving problems, leading our nation, defending our citizens. Instead of teaching our children "you can be President some day", they need to be taught "you can find a job some day and support yourself and your family". Just my opinion.

I agree...I do not care if we ever have a Female President. I will vote for who gets the job done. My concern is a lot of the people in this Country are insisting on having a 1st Female President...and will vote for her even if she is a lying criminal. Thank goodness that did not happen.

So I say...get one ready and on the path to success to run in the next election.

Forget Ivanka, she's not eligible to be President or Vice President because her Mom wasn't a citizen of the United States when she was born. Neither are Don Jr or Eric. We're blessed with Donald Trump, lets make the most of his Presidency and yes I think he'll run for re-election in 4 years because he wants to win 95% of the black vote i 4 years. He's already said that.
