Kushner, Cohn influencing Trump on immigration?
From the NYT (4/7/17):
But Mr. Bannon has his own core of supporters outside the White House. And he has argued that Mr. Kushner’s efforts to pull his father-in-law more to the center on issues like immigration would poison him with the conservative base — a hopeless position to be in because Mr. Bannon believes so few Democrats would ever consider supporting Mr. Trump.

For corporate executives and Wall Street investors worried about President Donald Trump's positions on import tariffs and immigration and his penchant for sparking confrontations with global leaders, there is a key power struggle to watch inside the White House.
The key player, and the great hope for free traders and those who believe well-regulated but significant immigration is a key driver of economic growth, is National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn, former president of Goldman Sachs.

Do not care for kushner - seems to be an immature rich guy with globalist tendencies. How could he advise wisely? Read an article he txts daily with morning joe. He's trouble. His family is a little wacky, they don't like trump and have been outspoken @ it.

Just remember, Trump makes the call. Trump just listens to different ideas, he likes the chaos of different opinions and input to shake it all up to get all the cards and upsides and downsides on the table, but Trump makes the call, always has, always will. He's not changing the way he operates to be President. He ran for President for one reason, to fix this mess we're in, because he's the only person in the country who can, he still is the only one, and most importantly, he knows that. He decides and it may be that in his strategy to get this done, we may not at all times understand how he's doing it, but he is doing it the best way he knows and believe me, there is no one else who can even get close to his ability to get this mess straightened out.
I do wish his sons could be more involved. They are so much like him, but the "ethics" of this stupid country prevent their involvement.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Trump's failure to end DACA is evidence that he can be influenced by the team of advisers he "chose" to surround himself with. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm very disappointed and upset that he decided to break a campaign promise to the people who elected him simply because someone advised him against it.

Trump's not ended DACA 2012 because someone advised him not to. He's not ended DACA 2012 for a reason of his own.

You can keep thinking that if you like. However, I'll stick with the opinion that he broke his campaign promise because someone convinced him to do so. Nobody campaigns as hard as he did on the DACA issue and decides on his or her own to immediately break the promise unless he has been influenced by someone (or maybe a bunch of someones).
I know you believe Donald Trump walks on water, but I'm saying he is a man like any other man and still puts his paints on one leg at a time. He can easily be influenced and has proven that. If not, DACA would have been cancelled on day one of his presidency as promised."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**

Trump never promised on the campaign trail to cancel DACA 2012. He promised to end two programs that the courts had already stopped. Those are the 2 DACA's from 2014, the Expansion of DACA 2012, and the addition of DAPA. I realize details disturb you, but those are the facts of his campaign promises. Does he also want to end DACA 2012, a THIRD one, I think he does. But he's got a different plan for that one because no court has ruled it unconstitutional and it wasn't done with an E. O. to reverse, it was done with a departmental memo by DHS in response to prioritization of resources laws passed by the US Congress, and those laws remain in place.

Trump knows he didn't, and you've not one written or recorded statement by him that supports your false position. Did you and many others confuse the three DACA programs as one? Did you and many others assume incorrectly that Trump was promising to reverse an EO that never existed, on a program that was never challenged by the states and no court had stopped, on a program that if the US Congress asked about prioritization of resources they wouldn't have to address again like Napolitano did? Maybe they can address it differently, but they will still have to address it.
I'm all for pressuring this administration to end DACA 2012. But the "broken promises" mantra is dishonest and doesn't do a thing to promote our cause with Trump. It makes us look unprofessional, uninformed about our own issue and cause, and whiny.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Why do you insist on calling it DACA 2012? You're the only one that does that. I guess you think that helps you to obfuscate the issue. We've been over this 100 times. Trump did promise to end DACA immediately and he has failed to do so. That is a broken campaign promise, period!
The information you're pretending to seek has been provided on here numerous times and you know that. I know you'll go to great lengths to excuse Trump for not keeping his promise(s), but know this, it's not helpful to our cause and it doesn't help convince him to keep his promise.
William Gheen of ALIPAC, Roy Beck of NumbersUSA, Mark Krikorian with the Center of Immigration Studies have actually confronted the Trump administration over the failed promise to end DACA. Are you going to tell these three stalwarts in our efforts to end illegal immigration that they are wrong too?"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**
