Trump to 'massively' cut taxes and regulation

President Donald Trump has pledged to "massively" cut taxes and regulations but impose "very major border tax" on firms that move factories overseas.

"All you have to do is stay," he told business leaders on the first weekday of his White House as he warned of an import penalty.

The president is also expected to sign a flurry of executive orders and meet congressional leaders on Monday.

His remarks follow a weekend of anti-Trump protests and a row with media.

All you have to do is stay and grow your company in the US for that portion of production that you want to sell to Americans in the United States. And if you have production in another country that you are back-hauling into the US, that needs to stop also. You sell it here, you make it here. You sell it over there, you can make it there. We'd prefer that some of that be exported from here, but most of US have no qualm with you producing in foreign markets to supply foreign markets. What rubs US wrong and rightly so, is for you to take production to another country to back-haul into the US market.
