Trump 'shows true face of US,' says Iran's Supreme Leader

(CNN) Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Tuesday that he's grateful to President Donald Trump for showing "the true face of the US."

Khamenei told a gathering of Iran's air force commanders in Tehran that the new US administration has shown the world "the depth of corruption in US government," according to quotes published by Iran's semi-official MEHR news agency.

Khamenei reportedly told the commanders: "We however thank this new guy in the White House, since he largely did the job we had been trying to do in the past decades: to divulge the true face of the US. We had been working to show the world the depth of corruption in US government and ranks and files of the ruling elite; Trump did it in few days after coming to the White House."

He added: "Their claims to human rights are no longer tenable."

Khamenei also made an apparent reference to the five-year-old son of an Iranian mother who was detained at a US airport following Trump's ban on visas for seven Muslim-majority countries, including Iran.

According to Iran's official news agency, IRNA, the Ayatollah said: "Presently, too, by embarking on such actions, like putting handcuffs on a five-year-old kid, he [Trump] is demonstrating the reality behind the American human rights."
Khamenei's comments come amid escalating tensions between Iran and the US since Trump became president.

The travel ban and sanctions enacted by the Trump administration, coupled with missile testing by Iran, have contributed to the deteriorating relationship.

Concerns have been raised over the future of a deal, brokered by the Obama administration, that requires Iran to heavily restrict its nuclear program.

On Saturday, a day after the Trump administration imposed fresh sanctions over an Iranian ballistic missile test, US Defense Secretary James Mattis called Iran "the single biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world."

Two days earlier, Trump had tweeted that "Iran has been formally PUT ON NOTICE" and should have been "thankful" for the "terrible deal" brokered by the Obama administration. He declined to rule out military action against Iran.

But a senior Iranian adviser to the Ayatollah, Ali Akbar Velayati, dismissed Trump's remarks as "baseless ranting." And this is not the first time that the Ayatollah has spoken in such terms about the US President.

In November, during the election race, Khamenei lambasted both Trump and Hillary Clinton for revealing what he called the moral shortcomings of the US.

Yes, you are now seeing the true face of the United States and the American People. We are no longer the stupid puppets of the world taking in your people, handing out our jobs, carting cash over to terrorist nations, fearing while funding ISIS. Nope, that was never actually the face of the United States or the American People. That was the face of the Democratic Party and its pick-up truck of wacko-birds.

The Americans you see now are the descendants of the Americans who won WWII in 3 years and 8 months. Your glory days in Iran of trying to profit financially and politically from the corruption and political heresy of the DemoQuack Party is over. Real Americans don't care what you do in your own country, whether we agree with your policies, practices, traditions and customs or not. But the DAY it seeps out and creeps out into the world of an ally or into the United States, directly or indirectly, then it becomes our business and if we don't like it, we'll reject and eject it out of ours.

Most Americans who know the history of the Iranian people like the Iranian people. There are many Iranians in the United States and to my experience, they are wonderful, intelligent and very good and decent people. There is no valid reason on earth for the United States and Iran to be at odds. Many of US have long forgiven the taking over of our Embassy in 1979 and holding our people hostage for so long. These were students, young people for the most part who did this. There was a revolution by the people and sometimes things go awry and finding a way out of it politically difficult. But to sponsor terrorism, if this is true, that seeps and creeps out into our country or assets and people around the world, this will not be tolerated any more. This has to end as does nuclear weapon proliferation. I supported your right to produce nuclear turbines through your P6 centrifuges for energy, I still do, but any expansion into nuclear weapons can not be tolerated. At all. On any level.

You may feel that you're being picked up because the US has allowed other countries to develop nuclear weapons programs. That was allowed by idiots. The idiots are no longer in charge of the United States. There's a new leadership in our capital, a new no-nonsense government, that in the process of fixing our own country, our primary objective, it will be necessary to make some fixes in the world to remove threats, hindrances and violence that interferes with our own missions for our own nation.

So stand by, hold your horses, because good things are coming and many of those will be of great interest and benefit to the Iranian people.

He forgot to mention that an American CANNOT walk freely in any muslim countries mentioned including iran.

A former U.S. Marine working as a security specialist in Iraq had to be evacuated after uploading a video on Facebook that chronicled the unvarnished truth in response to President Donald Trump’s controversial executive order on immigration and refugees.

Seen more than 42 million times, Steven Gern explained in the video how an American would be treated in the countries that Trump included in his temporary travel ban.

“Apparently, it wasn’t safe for me to remain in the location I was in,” he said in a follow up video. “So, I’m being sent out.”

But he let it be known that this story has only just begun.

“Can’t say much about what’s happening right now,” Gern said. “But what I will say is there’s going to be a lot more to follow. So stay tuned everybody.”

In the original video, Gern explained that “a lot of the Iraqis showed their displeasure in [Trump’s] executive order” and he responded by asking them what would happen to him, as an American citizen, if he were to openly walk into a nearby town.

He said the Iraqis told him that he would be snatched up and killed within an hour.

“The point I’m trying to make is – this is the local populace that would do this,” Gern said. “This isn’t ISIS… this isn’t al-Qaeda. So, my question to them was pretty simple after that.

“If you would do this to me, in your country, why would I let you in my country?”
