Trump's border wall proposal is exactly what Ann Coulter pitched on Fox News Saturday

Trump's border wall proposal is exactly what Ann Coulter pitched on Fox News Saturday night

On March 25, President Donald Trump released a cryptic tweet proposing to use funds dedicated to national defense to build a wall along the southern border, a plan conservative commentator Ann Coulter had proposed hours earlier on one of Trump’s favorite Fox News shows, Justice with Judge Jeanine.
    On Sunday morning, Trump tweeted:

    Donald J. Trump
    @realDonaldTrump

Because of the $700 & $716 Billion Dollars gotten to rebuild our Military, many jobs are created and our Military is again rich. Building a great Border Wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense. Build WALL through M!
    6:33 AM - Mar 25, 2018

The tweet was widely interpreted as a proposal to use military funding to build a border wall, a proposal Coulter had made the night before on Justice with Judge Jeanine. The show's host, Jeanine Pirro, is a longtime friend of Trump’s and has earned a special place on his watch list through her fawning coverage.

JEANINE PIRRO (HOST): What can the president do? What can the president do as commander-in-chief?

ANN COULTER: Look, on the day after his inauguration, it's his authority under the Constitution that cannot be taken away from him by any legislature, by any court -- I'm quite confident the Supreme Court would uphold this -- to defend our borders. I mean, he has -- the last war that had a declaration of war from Congress in it was World War II, and we engage in a lot of military actions around the world. I think it can be done right on our border as part of the defense. Have the Seabees do it. But if he needs to --

PIRRO: OK, so where does he get the money? Where does he get the money to build the wall that you can say he can build as national defense. Where does he take the money from?

COULTER: The same place Reagan took the money to invade Grenada. The same place he took the money to bomb Syria. He has money to spend on national defense, and this is a much bigger problem of national defense. This is our people being attacked with chemical warfare, not allegedly Syrians.

He should give her a position in the WH. I'm starting to think trump really is an idiot or just reached a level of incompetency in the WH job.

Congress's massive new spending bill completely whiffed on Trump's demands for 'the wall'

    • President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he "Got $1.6 Billion to start Wall on Southern Border."
    • In reality, he didn't.
    • The new omnibus funding bill includes no money for Trump's proposed wall.
    • It does contain funding to build 47 miles of fencing similar to what exists now.
    • Additionally, the bill would replace 45 miles of existing fencing.

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the administration secured a big win as part ofCongress' massive new funding bill: money to start building the wall along the US-Mexico border.

"Got $1.6 Billion to start Wall on Southern Border, rest will be forthcoming," Trump tweeted.

But in reality, there's no funding for the wall in the bill — at least not the kind that Trump described during his campaign.

The massive $1.3 trillion omnibus bill does not include funding for what Trump typically refers to as the "Wall." Instead, the bill includes just under $1.6 billion for increased border security.

As part of that funding, the omnibus directs roughly 92 miles of border barriers to be built or replaced, less than the "more than 100 miles of new construction for the border wall" the White House touted in a statement before the bill's release.

Also, rather than one of the 30-foot tall prototypes for the wall that Trump visited on March, any additional security is limited to the same model of fencing and levees currently used along the border.
In total, the bill contains three separate outlays for changes to physical border barriers:

    • $251 million for 14 miles of new secondary fencing along the border in the San Diego sector. This was a request from Trump's budget.
    • $445 million to replace existing fencing. According to congressional aides, this should refurbish 45 miles worth of barriers.
    • $641 million for 33 miles of new fencing and levees in the Rio Grande Valley sector.

Those items are short of Trump's goal, and the funding is nowhere near the $25 billion the White House sought in negotiations for the wall.

Democrats appeared ready to give Trump the full wall request during the negotiations on the omnibus, according to reports, in exchange for the codification of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration program.

The DACA program protects from deportation close to 700,000 unauthorized immigrants that arrived in the US as minors. Trump ended the program in September, but gave Congress until March 5 to codify the program into law. After a court blocked the administration from ending the program, that deadline was pushed back, but Democrats have still pushed to provide certainty to the issue.

Yes, Trump plagarizes Ann Coulter in his efforts to tell those who voted for him what they want to hear.

But then he does something completely different with his actual policies and legislation support.

We need Ann Coulter to run for President.

Why I want Ann Coulter to run for President in 2020
