The entire Justice Department are Obama and Clinton holdovers. Bush didn't clean it out. That's why you tell their "Ethics Committee" when you want their opinion you'll ask for it, and you never do. You don't recuse because Comey leaked a phony memo after he was fired. You don't back down, you don't back up, you don't back off. You stay on the Agenda full steam ahead and fire anyone who tries to stop you. This is what Trump wants all of his Cabinet members to do, and rightly so. Trump wants immediate results, he wants solutions, he wants to fix the country and it's a mess from top to bottom. Trump can't do this all by himself, his Cabinet Members are his Agenda Generals, he wants them roaring and raiding and kicking butt and cleaning house, standing their ground and pushing the Agenda forward as fast as possible, because we only have a few years to do it. Unlike most past Presidents, Trump isn't a lawyer, the Attorney General is his Agenda Lawyer. The new relationship with Russia was a very important goal of Donald Trump's, for our country and world peace and prosperity, and it's completely stalled. That's why he's so frustrated, it's not about himself or Jared or Don Jr., it's about Russia and a better relationship with the United States for the benefit of the American People.

It's on hold pending his request to a US district count to stop the trial, last I heard.

    Here's the latest:

The man formerly known as “America’s toughest sheriff” is facing federal criminal contempt charges for allegedly continuing with his racially profiling “immigration patrols” and detentions in defiance of a federal order. The trial ended last month, and the judge is expected to issue a ruling soon.

Not the 1st, 3rd, or 5th time you've attempted to obfuscate an issue. Jeff Sessions recusal was not the result of a phony memorandum released by Comey.

    Excerpt:

Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions insists his recusal from any investigation into Russian collusion in last year’s election was simple: It’s the law.

In an opening statement before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday, Sessions cited a Department of Justice regulation that he said mandated him stepping aside.

The regulation, 28 CFR 45.2, notes that a Justice Department employee shall not participate in a “criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with … an elected official, a candidate (whether or not successful) for elective, public office, a political party, or a campaign organization.”

“I recused myself not because of any asserted wrongdoing on my part during the campaign,” Sessions said. “But because a Department of Justice regulation, 28 CFR 45.2, required it.”

“That regulation states, in effect, that department employees should not participate in investigations of a campaign if they have served as a campaign advisor,” said Sessions.

Throughout much of the 2016 election, Sessions served as a senior advisor to Trump’s campaign.
IMO, Trump's attacks on Sessions are primarly motivated by his fears of what the Mueller investigations might reveal regarding his son, son-in-law, and maybe even himself on his obstruction of justice investigation. Trump is very nervous now that Mueller is investigating his families finances, including his tax returns.

I can fully understand Trump's motivations because no one wants to be investigated, innocent or not. However, firing or forcing Jeff Sessions to resign through humiliation so you can replace him with a 'yes man' is not the solution.

Jeff Sessions recusal was the right thing to do.
