    The truth about MacArthur Park

    By Michelle Malkin · May 02, 2007 09:51 PM

Update: Outrageous anti-police smear campaign launched by California Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez: "Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, who represents the park district, said police deliberately led troublemakers back to the peaceful marchers before beginning their assault.'The only logical conclusion I can come to is that somebody wanted it to bleed into the march so that they can do some target practice on some of the immigrants that were marching,' Nunez said."

Update II: Listen to some of the LAPD police radio intercepts for yourselves.

Update III: LA media get ready to sue, sue, sue.

    Masked provocateur at MacArthur Park

    Fire on Wilshire Blvd.

The open-borders radicals want their own Don Imus moment.

    Their own Rodney King redux.

And it looks like the LAPD leadership is ready to sell out its own officers and cave into the professional grievance mob.

    Shameful, but no surprise.

You must remember that this is a city with a longstanding sanctuary policy for illegal aliens. A city where police officers are hamstrung in the fight against illegal alien crime. A city where the political leadership plays the militant ethnic card and the establishment has a long, shameless history of pandering to outlaws.

You must bear in mind that MacArthur Park is no ordinary park. It is the birthplace of the violent MS-13 illegal alien gang enterprise. It is infested with drug dealers controlled by Colombian gangsters and the Mexican Mafia.

You must also recall that MS-13 has targeted police officers for assassination. Orders to ambush police officers, called "green light" notices, have been issued across the country.

Keep all of this history, context, and current reality in mind as the heat turns on the rank-and-file LAPD officers who were defending themselves from masked rock-throwers and bottle-throwers and hubcap-throwers and club-wielders like the one pictured above. Keep all of this in mind as police-bashers gin up misleading portraits of officers exercising force unjustifiably. Keep in mind that many reporters in Los Angeles are naked mouthpieces for the open-borders lobby--local reporters like reconquista propagandist Tony Valdez.

Miraculously, one surprisingly balanced account of what happened was posted at the Los Angeles Times by reporter and eyewitness Jill Leovy. Key points:

At 6:13 p.m. the officers in riot gear were lined up in the southbound lanes of Alvarado Street between Wilshire and 7th Street with helmets and face covers, batons at the ready. There were 40 or 50 of them and they were in a line extending north to south, facing west into the park.
As they lined up, Chief Lee Carter told a reporter that numerous bottles had been thrown at officers by people in the crowd and he didn't have time to talk. The Times did not directly observe the bottle throwing, but Carter's account was corroborated by protesters.

Prior to this, a small group of young protesters, including several wearing bandanas over their faces, had been hovering near the police on this side of the park. Unlike the rest of the protesters, who mostly ignored officers, this group had appeared quite focused on the police throughout the march -- watching them, filming them at close range, hollering at them, etc.

UPI notes that one officer was reportedly knocked off his motorcycle by a protester. As the officers tried to control the crowd and push them back, protesters lobbed at least one plastic bottle at them. Then:

Inside the park, a small last holdout group of protesters briefly tried to set up barricades of red fences inside the park near the pavilion. Fellow protesters persuaded them to give up this plan. "You can't do this!" a protester yelled at the advancing police line as she abandoned the makeshift barricade...
...A block west of the park on 6th, a couple dozen young men and middle-aged men threw plastic garbage cans into the street. They formed a barricade of garbage cans blocking traffic and also threw material at passing cars. A large metal truck hubcap was sent spinning into the street toward people. An older man began hitting a Metro bus pulled up to the curb with a large piece of wood. A dozen men stood in the middle of the street taunting the advancing police line.

At least two of these taunters had bandanas over their faces. But most of them seemed a different crowd than those who had confronted police at the east side of the park. They were in jeans and T-shirts and had no protest regalia. When a patrol car pulled up just east of Lafayette Park, it was bombarded with bottles and debris thrown by this group.

Ethnic groups and police-bashers in L.A. are now working overtime to exploit the MacArthur Park riots and bring the LAPD to its knees. And they aren't hiding their real agenda:

We are calling community members, civil leaders to Immediately call LAPD chief William Bratton, and LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa office, to demand the following:
    1) An immediate independent police investigation of the May Day incident at McArthur Park, and demand officers who violated the police guidelines be punished.

    2) The immediate and full disclosure from LAPD of any people arrested and detained, we further demand that the LAPD not act as immigrant agents to enforce Federal immigrant law...

As this conflagration spreads, you can be certain that:

    1) Democratic presidential candidates will exploit the moment; ignore the history, context, and current reality in gang-infested MacArthur Park; and ingratiate themselves with the open-borders demagogues;

    2) GOP presidential candidates will join the pandering or cower in a corner; and

    3) Mainstream media sensationalists will produce anti-police pabulum like this in a bid to relive the glory days of the Rodney King riots:
If you ain't mad, you ain't payin' attention = Terry Anderson.

I watched a video on KTLA channel 5 that evening of May 1st, portraying the Illegals tthrowing rocks, cans, bottles, at the officers and also portrayed the illegals throwing a lawn chair into the side of a police car. The illegals were all running and laughing and taunting the officers. This video was shown ONLY ONCE and I never saw it again after that....only the videos portraying the officers in riot gear moving the crowds out the best they could. I'm getting the REAL picture of the one sidedness in FAVOR of the ILLEGALS and how it is shoved down the the American publics' throat through BAD MEDIA. This is LIFE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! We live with the BLATENT -IN-YOUR-FACE RACIST ILLEGALS daily and are being shoved out of our own state. NO ONE wants to live here anymore, that is an American, because of the FOUL place this has become, with politicans supporting the ILLEGALS and putting RESTRAINTS ON THE LAW!

MacArthur Park March Happened on May Day for a Reason

May 1st was not just a random date that had been chosen by the supporters of the Illegal Migrants. (I use the term "Migrants" because immigrants are those who come into this country legally with the purpose of becoming citizens.)

To many people who do not know this fact, May 1st, or "May Day" is a priority holiday in most Socialist and Communist Nations. It is the day when the Communists and Socialists parade their military strength (remember seeing all the tanks and missiles in Moscow's Krasnoy Selo - Red Square - in May Day parades before Russia came to its senses and finally toppled Communism in that country?) In many of the media news videos of MacArthur Park's May Day Rally; at least those that we were allowed to see on television, the flags of the Marxist (Communist) and Socialist parties could be clearly seen in the background. At several other rallies in Hollywood and Los Angeles, Communists and Socialists have been present in their quest to "support" the "plight" of the Illegal Migrants. I've said it many times: many supporters of the Illegal Migrants have a different and clandestine agenda. And the American minions who are marching with the Socialists and the Marxists are just as treasonous to the United States as their perpetrators are. Americans had best wake up to this fact.

There are no human rights or freedoms in a Socialist or Communist Government. Those misguided people who think that Communists and Socialists are fighting for human rights and freedoms are absolutely wrong. The politburos that govern those parties are among the most oppressive entities on the planet.

People who were present at that MacArthur Park rally have reported that members of those parties and some of the Illegal Migrants themselves began throwing rocks and bottles at the police, but most of this was either covered up or not shown at all by the media, which preferred only to focus upon the actions of the Los Angeles police. Of course, the left-leaning media wanted only to make the Los Angeles Police look like the Nazi Gestapo as opposed to being officers who were trying to restore order. Of course, the media failed to show those protestors who were behaving like Little Lenins.

A few days later, Mayor Villaraigosa even marched with more demonstrators in support of those Socialist/Marxist-supported Illegal Migrants and against his own police department! This occurred after he returned from his trip to wheel and deal in South America. He was away from Los Angeles during the May Day march; but that's typical of him since he's away from Los Angeles more than he is in it; unless of course, he has an excuse to obtain a good photo op. I guess those who elected him are being shown that they made a big mistake; especially more so now that he has revealed the infidelities in his personal life. Another politician who, while running for office, looked right at the camera and lied. How can one who is unfaithful in his personal life be faithful to those he purports to lead? Is he a supporter of all Angelenos or is he a supporter of La Raza? But I digress.

We have a real problem with the Illegal Migrants and it must be delt with. We must do it legally and without any violence. It's not the Mexican culture that is offensive; in fact, Mexican-Americans who came into this country legally are fine, hard working people who are being figuratively slapped in the face by those who do not come into this country in the legal way. The key word in this whole mess is "Illegal," as all of us in ALIPAC know.

Personally, I lost a lot of respect for the Hispanic Community during the Rodney King riots when a security camera at one of the department stores in the riot-torn area caught a Mexican woman and her three children in the act of looting. The image of that woman directing her kids to steal various items off the shelves and put them in one of the three baskets they had commandeered was broadcast over the news for several days. It showed me right then and there that there is little or no regard for Americans by some people in the Hispanic community. I know many fine, outstanding Mexican-Americans who are American citizens, well-educated and totally respectful of all Americans, so I summized that the woman in that video may very well have been an Illegal Migrant. I shudder to think what would happen if Los Angeles is hit by more rioting or worse, such as a natural disaster or a terrorist attack! Would we have to defend ourselves against looting Illegal Migrants?

We have many major problems facing us, especially in light of our need for Homeland Security, and this Illegal Immigration situation does not help with our Security needs. In Los Angeles, when one turns on the news, every day there are violent crimes committed; mostly by people with Hispanic surnames; most likely Illegals and many certainly by gang members. And with so many people reporting violence by Illegal Migrants, it is very distressing to see what is happening in Los Angeles. It is not the friendly city that it had been in years past. Many Americans are leaving Los Angeles because of its overcrowded conditions, its soaring cost of living, its ever-escalating crime and because of its Illegal Migrant population who have no regard for our ways and traditions; many of whom have nasty attitudes and who, of course, insist that we speak their language. I was once threatened on the telephone because I refused to speak "Espanish." Fortunately, I had caller ID and was able to report that threat to the phone company. I doubt if anything was done about it. And yes, many of the Hispanics, including some politicians, have spoken about "taking back" California.

Obviously, we have to deal with these problems as best as possible... without violence and by all the legal ways that are available to us. We must vote out all of those politicians who have special interests and who are not acting in the best interest of all citizens. We must be ever vigilant and report any suspicious activity to our local law enforcement agencies. Of course, most law enforcement agencies are unable to take action until an actual crime is committed; however, law enforcement agencies can become vigilant if we alert them to possible problems. By all means, be vigilant and if you experience anything that is suspicious or threatening, report it.

And above all, for God's sake learn how to speak up! It's not politically incorrect to do so. The Socialists and the Marxists would have you believe that, since the term "politically correct" is one of their passive-aggressive attempts to silence those who do not agree with their agenda. What is politically correct is our United States Constitution, which guarantees our basic freedoms; especially our freedom of speech.
Remember that*all Politicians work for us, the U.S. Taxpaying Citizens.* If they are not doing their jobs to your liking, FIRE THEM in the next elections.

I just can't understand there support on Communist views!!! If this was a Communist country they would no way to get any civil rights or freedoms, let alone jobs and free hand outs!!!

If you look at the bigger picture they are trying to reconquest the southwestern US and they are using tactics to cause a revolution in our nation!!!! Only problem is there not going after the government there going after us the citizens!!! The even worse part about it is the support of OUR elected idiots that back them up!!!

They are trying to make our country so unstable that when we the people are fighting our government they move in and steal our country right under our noses!!!!

Well America its time to get up!!! There is a military uprise in our country and we need to deal with it now!!!

    Interesting website some good resources.

Here is basically what I was once told by a refugee from a Communist country years ago:

The things about Communism that most likely appeals to some people, especially to those who are poverty-stricken, is the fact that everyone is provided with a home (with certain heavy restrictions), a ration of food, medical coverage, and a job (not necessarily of one's liking.) HOWEVER, and that is a big HOWEVER, none of those things are had without the sacrifice of basic human freedoms, personal individuality and basic human rights. As we have seen throughout history where Socialist/Marxist governments have occurred, the politburos and in some cases, the totalitarian dictator of those countries have imposed laws so strict and oppressive, that many feel the desire to risk their lives to escape the oppression and who can blame them?

In regard to housing, for example, many people in Communist countries are crammed together in single units, usually family members and in multi-family housing that is not necessarily to their liking. And if one is single, they are out of luck. Single people in Communist countries must either live with other family members or they must hasten to marry and produce a family of their own, in order to have a home of their own.

In regard to medical treatment in Communist countries, yes, everyone may seek treatment, but does that medical treatment involve experimentation with medications that have not been certified for safety? You do not have a choice of doctors and/or medical services. Doctors are assigned to you by the state. Your medical condition and treatment are not kept private and are summarily reported to the state. Most people in Communist countries have no choice in the matter.

In regard to jobs in Communist countries, you may train for a particular job... training that is determined for you by the Politburo based upon your aptitudinal skills and/or where it is determined that you will best fit into the progress of the party. Forget about doing a job that you would want to do. The party will determine that for you.

In Communist countries, everything is governed by the totalitarian dictator and/or the Politburo: what you are to think, what you write, what you read, where you travel, what you do with your life, to name only a few things.

In all Communist countries, telling you what to do is accompanied by telling you what to think. And if you dare to think against the regime, you are then interrogated, placed on probation (vigilance officers are stationed in all apartment complexes) and if you do not alter your individualistic way of thinking, you run the risk of being sent to a re-education camp or worse, a distant labor camp. Here in the United States, proponents of Communism are working it the other way around... first telling you what to think and say through passive-aggressive tactics such as enforcing "political correctness." Have no doubt, if those people have their way, telling you what to think and say will inevitably lead to telling you what to do.

Communist governments promise the world to people when they are recruiting members and making their appeals, but once they are in power... watch out. Your freedoms are gone. Absolutely and unequivocably gone. If you don't believe me: just look at history: The Union of Soviet Socialist Republic (Russia), the Socialist Republic of Cuba, Mauist China; the National Socialist Party of Germany (1934-1945),etc. etc. Those nations were and are no better than the radical religious states that abound in the Middle East, but with one major exception. Communists are generally Atheists, they do not believe in God, let alone a benevolent God. They do not believe in God or Spirituality at all. And Heaven help you if you do! Again, in Communist countries, a belief in God is grounds for enforced re-education. Don't forget, it was Karl Marx who made the statement about religion being nothing more than an opiate of the people.

Oh yes, most Socialist/Marxist factions stand behind our Constitutional right of the freedom of speech when spouting their rhetoric. They use our Constitution's guarantee of the freedom of speech to knock our country down. But just let a Socialist/Communist regime take over and you'll see how fast that freedom of speech is done away with. Remember, in a Communist government, you must always agree with the party and if you don't, you must be silenced. You must be "politically correct."

By the way, for those who are unaware, the modern-day terminology for Communism is "Marxism," named after the founder of Communism, the above-mentioned Karl Marx. The reigning Politburo of the party apparently felt that the word "Communism" is too unpopular and by re-naming the movement after its founder it would then be more appealing. To the uneducated, that may have been so... but to the educated, never! And don't forget, too, that most hard-core Marxist nations also refer to themselves as "Socialist"; even as "Socialist Democrats." Be wary. Be very wary!!!

It's happening right here in the United States, especially as evidenced by the presence of those parties at rallies in "support" of Illegal Migrants and this is why it is so ludicrous when people like the Illegal Migrants think that Marxists are going to take care of them! Oh, they'll be taken care of all right! They should be glad that Mexico is still a free Republic... at least for the time being. A Socialist regime almost took over there in the last elections!

But this is becoming a major problem... there are far too many people in the world, even here in the United States, who want the government to take care of everything for them, including paying their bills, absorbing their costs; etc. After all, it's much easier to lay back and let someone else do all the providing and the caring, isn't it? Whatever happened to individuality, to inventiveness, to self-reliance? Whatever happened to pride in doing for one's self so that one can also do for others?

Yes, we do need to take care of our poor in this country, our homeless, our jobless; but most important of all, we need to help those people learn how to help themselves and be self-reliant. There's a lot of people in the United States alone that need help in this manner; but how can we do so if we give all of our resources away, especially to those who do not or will not contribute to our economy or who do not or will not become citizens?

This is also why it is very important for Americans to educate themselves about the tactics of Socialist/Marxist "progress" so that we may recognize the actions that may ultimately be detrimental to our security and our way of life. It is also important to be able to identify the actions of those politicians who fall along with the plans of those parties and vote them out of office or otherwise prevent them from attaining political office at all. People, for example, who want to put a limit on just how much Americans can invest, just how much Americans can spend, people who want open borders, people who want to give our Social Services away to all those who have not paid into it; and people who want to give our productivity and our jobs away to Communist countries in the name of "Globalism," or for the cause of a "One World Government." And don't be fooled by those who say that the "New Socialism" that many of them tout is any better than what went on before. "New Socialism" was promised to the citizens of Germany in 1934; as early as the 1920's in fact, and those who know anything about history today most certainly know how that all turned out! Be wary... Be very wary!

As I have mentioned before, anyone who espouses Socialist/Marxist ideals and activities to the detriment of our country, our Constitution and its basic freedoms is all the more guilty of treason to the United States and to the United States citizens as those parties are themselves.
Remember that*all Politicians work for us, the U.S. Taxpaying Citizens.* If they are not doing their jobs to your liking, FIRE THEM in the next elections.

    Greatly put MarkM!

Yes I agree to that Americans need to step back away from the government owes us attitude! What built this country? Risks, inventiveness, individuality, and self-reliance!!! Every thing you said! With out our great explorers like Lewis and Clark, Daniel Boone, Zebulon Pike, and Jedediah Smith just to name a few.... With out that risk taking would we be where we are today? Remember the stories of the first settlement Jamestown, lead by John Smith? We have come so long but in a small period of time if you think about it? American the greatest country in the world and perhaps the youngest!

Thank you, BorderLegionnaire. Yes, we are the greatest country in the world, and perhaps one of the youngest. And since it is young, there are many who have not learned or applied the lessons of history. That's why it's important to educate as many people as possible. We have grown so complacent that we have thrown ingenuity and inventiveness out of the window.

We've almost become like the Eloi in H.G. Wells' "The Time Machine," laying back and doing nothing, enjoying the lay of the land; letting the books in the library crumble from not being picked up and read; and getting their only lessons from spinning disks! H.G. Wells must have had the gift of prophesy! Where do most complacent people get their knowledge today? From DVD's - spinning disks. At least the noted author was trying to tell us all something! But I digress. So if we remain complacent like the Eloi, just wait until the Morlocks come to conquer us! Morlocks like the Muslim radicals and the Socialist/Marxists.

We have major security issues at our borders; a fanatic radical religion in the world that wages bloody warfare and which hopes to conquer the world by killing all those who do not believe as they do. We have Marxist factions who would have us believe that they are in support of human rights when in fact they are exactly the opposite. Those people who are helping the Illegal Migrants continue to drain our economy are certainly contributing to the weakening resources of the United States, not only financially, but in lost jobs and productivity. In addition, who knows how many Muslim fanatics using Mexican surnames and identities are coming into the country with them? And Mexico is apparently allowing that to happen! Again, we need to be vigilant and wary.
